So It’s September!

Between the long slog that has been the covid pandemic and having an empty nest, I feel like I’ve lost my internal clock for the seasons. I know summer isn’t over yet meteorologically, but I am also finding it hard to believe it’s September.

So It’s September!

I actually have a lot going on this September. Next weekend we are doing the Pennsylvania Dutch Farm to Fork Fondo again. The next weekend I head to L.A. for a conference and business meetings. Then the last week of the month I will be in Orlando for a firm retreat. I better get that covid vaccine booster before I spend all that time on planes ….

For the first time in a while I’ve been healthy enough for my monthly Garmin data to be interesting.

I ran just over 75 miles, mostly with Scooby but a fair number on my treadmill. My longest run was 6 miles as I recovered from injuries and coped with humidity!

My cycling statistics aren’t as accurate because I have no idea if my Schwinn is calibrated realistically. I usually hit 9-ish miles in a 30 min class (which last more than 30 min with the intro and end segments), and keep going until I reach 10. Now that I’m back to running we’ve only been riding once a weekend—except when we were at the beach.

My husband tries to ride 100 miles/week—including when he rides his bike to work.

Weekly Run Down

The darker mornings are a clear sign that summer is waning. I wish I’d had my headlamp for Monday’s run. I got it ready for Thursday’s run, but decided to start a bit later so I didn’t need it. I hit my 1599th Peloton strength class on Thursday, and decided to hold out for Daniel’s live class Tuesday for my 1600th. That means taking yoga and stretching classes instead of my usual strength stacks until Tuesday.

Monday: 3.5 SCooby Miles + 45 min FB Strength
I missed the ocean breezes, but had the company of my favorite canine to make up for it. I also took Jess Sims’s latest 45 min class and it was a good one—she didn’t ”ruin” it with high impact plyometric moves or burpees. 😉

Tuesday: 10 min Core + 20 min FB Strength + 30 min T-Pain Ride
I was in the mood for a fun ride and Camilla’s class with T-Pain did not disappoint. He makes a guest appearance and was so goofy! The last song was basically a mini-concert. Definitely a good way to start the day.

Wednesday: Peloton Strength + 4.5 Treadmill Miles
Peloton debuted a new treadmill class series with Becs Gentry and Ashton Kutcher. He is training for the NYC marathon and fundraising for his charity Thorn—which is dedicated to using technology to fight child sexual exploitation. I decided to take the first class on my tread, but probably will take the others outside.

Thursday: 20 min FB Strength + 4.75 Scooby Miles
Started September with some Scooby miles! It was so nice I extended my route and bagged my plans for a post-run ALW class because I had to get ready for an 8:00 am conference call. Good thing because it was only then that I realized I was at 1599 strength classes.

Friday: Peloton Yoga + 30 min Intervals + Arms Ride
I didn’t love any of these yoga classes, but they weren’t bad. I snuck in some strength with Hannah’s Intervals + Arms ride, and rounded up my mileage with Cliff’s new Gospel cool down ride (in English).

Saturday: 22.5 Cycling miles + 3.5 Treadmill Miles
I did a cycling sandwich between Peloton classes. I started my day with a yoga class and a pre-run warmup I knew was a secret strength class (hip cars, glute bridges, planks). Then we headed to Falls Church for the Conte’s Hill Ride. We didn’t linger too long afterwards, so I had time to take Daniel’s new Rock Run before tackling my weekend chores.

My double stack of Peloton classes

Sunday: 20 min Peloton  Yoga + Fun Run with Friends!
I started my day with a 20 min yoga class, and then headed to D.C. to meet Carianne, Montana, and Deborah for a fun run around the Mall—I’ll update later with photos. 🙂

You know Deborah set up this photo!

A huge thank you to Deborah and Kim for hosting the Weekly Run Down link up.

What are you looking forward to in September?

Good luck with all your travels.

I hope to get booster before I go to Maine.

Have fun on your monument run. FOMO

  2. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you’re saving a class with Daniel for #1600 😉 He’ll work you over well, and make it memorable! Well, since having had Covid very recently, I won’t need to worry about my second booster for awhile, and I’m good with that. The vaccines (and the one booster) were far worse than the virus itself, at least in my experience.

  3. Jenny says:

You have an exciting month coming up! Make sure you hold out for the NEW booster, which should hopefully protect you against the current strains.
1600 strength classes- that’s impressive. I hope you get a shout-out from Daniel on Tuesday.
I’m looking forward to hearing all about today’s blogger run!

Even if Daniel doesn’t give me a shoutout, I know it will be a great workout.

I am going to try to get the “new” booster – hopefully I can find it.

  4. 1600 classes (which I have no doubt will be soon. That’s insane!

My Summer was mostly busy with my mom, so I’m really hoping things can settle down in Sept — but am aware that might not happen too.

Luckily I haven’t had to be on the treadmill lately, although I do like Becs so I’ll tuck that info away in my mind — thanks!

  5. Michelle says:

Daniel’s a great choice for a milestone class! He’s really become one of my favorites.

I’m sure your monument run was a blast – I really need to get to DC.

Sounds like a busy month ahead!

  6. You do have a busy month coming up with lots of travel. So much fun this morning! Glad we worked it all out

  7. Wendy says:

Early congrats on your 1600th strength workout. Your dedication is impressive.

I’m having FOMO of your DC monument run! Nice job!

  8. Marcia says:

Congrats in advance on the upcoming 1600th strength class. That’s amazing. I did the first BG/Ashton K run outside and it was interesting to hear their banter. Sounds like he’s running for a great cause. All the best with the travel you’ve got coming up!

  9. Catrina says:

That D.C running group photo! Love it!
Please tell me that you coordinated your colours beforehand and that the red/blue isn’t a coincidence!
Looking forward to hearing all about your travels this month.

  10. Kim G says:

You are rocking the Peloton strength milestone classes this year! So smart to wait for Daniel for the next strength milestone – I think he has some of the best strength classes on the platform.

So fun that you were able to meet up with Montana, Cari and Deborah yesterday!

I was happy to hear about the new Covid booster being available very soon. I hope I can get the booster sometime this month since my last booster was in December.

    • Coco says:

I just made a booster appointment for next week—I hope it’s the new one by then.

I am ready for my 1600th with Daniel tomorrow!

  11. 1600 classes, that is so impressive. Good luck on all your future travels coming up. Very cool you got to meet up with some great ladies to run DC. Sounds like fun.

  12. Jessie says:

I found out I need to get boosted to get into the Netherlands for Amsterdam…so trying to figure out the health system to get an NHS number to do so! Complicated 🙂 Good luck with yours!

I hope you have an awesome 1600 class! I have never once taken a live class. My new friend here has gone to the London studio and wants me to try it…maybe!

  13. Love the group picture. So well posed 🙂 1,600 classes is quite impressive!! Congrats on this milestone. I was in need of a booster shot for my Dad this week and was getting disappointed when they said none were available due to the new booster coming out. Eventually we did get one and he was very grateful!
