Fabulous February Ultimate Coffee Date

Welcome to the Ultimate Coffee Date for February 2018! Are you as glad to have January behind you as I am? I should be careful what I say, because February could be a bear too, although it’s really work deadlines in March that I’m dreading. …. At least this weekend I have time to get together with you all for coffee! Share your “coffee date” post in the link up below, and make sure you visit my co-host Deborah at Confessions Of A Mother Runner and comment on other blogs to spread the love.

If we were having coffee …

If we were having coffee, I would have to ask if you have a favorite team in the Big Game on Sunday? For some reason, my son has been a lifelong Patriots fan. My husband just wants a good game. I just want good commercials!

If we were having coffee, I ‘d ask if you are making any special appetizers to nosh on during the game. I’ll be making my usual chili and corn bread recipe–although these days I use my own spice blend with chili powder, garam masala, cumin, and cinnamon.

Nothing like a big pot of chili on a winter day!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you about the [amazon_textlink asin=’B06ZZ75B13′ text=’year-at-a-glance calendar ‘ template=’ProductLink’ store=’runniwithpers-20′ marketplace=’US’ link_id=’355908a8-06d8-11e8-8245-cf22060bb6c0′] I ordered from Amazon. I’ve never had a yearly calendar like this, but I thought it would be helpful to see all of our major plans for the year at once.

It will be good for planning purposes, but seeing all the months at once makes me feel like the year will go by even faster. It’s also got me second-guessing my plans to sign up for the Reston 10 miler on March 8th because it’s only a few weeks away ….

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that my regular yoga classes motivate me to keep up with pedicures over the winter, but I still wait way to long to make my appointment. Last week I could barely stand to do forward fold without averting my eyes–luckily I was able to get an appointment over the weekend!

Happy toes by the fire!

If we were having coffee, I would encourage you to read my Friday Five post if you haven’t already. I shared Five Whys To Go Red For Women and hope you all keep up to date on the latest research on how to reduce your risks for cardiovascular disease.

What would you share over coffee?

Chili and cornbread go together so well! *-* I’ll be working on Sunday but I’m low-key rooting for the Eagles just because I have a friend who’s an Eagles cheerleader and another who’s been one of the team physicians for their athletes for the past year. I hope you get some cool commercials! šŸ˜›

  2. Wendy says:

My last pedicure was in Palm Springs–let’s see, that was in October! My feet are in need of some love, that’s for sure! I’m planning on going after next weekend’s half. Or should I go before?

  3. I can’t even remember the last time I had a pedicure – it’s been that long!

I like the idea of using a year at a glance calendar. We keep two months of whiteboard calendars in our kitchen but I always feel like I need to see further ahead.

And yay for your son being a Pats fan šŸ˜‰

  4. I really couldn’t care less about the Super Bowl, but I do always look forward to the halftime show and of course the commercials. I think Justin Timberlake will be fantastic. I carry a notebook-sized ‘month at a glance’ calendar EVERYWHERE I go–always have. I need that visual to see what’s coming up, including my pedicures! I get them pretty regularly. I just hate to let things go that long.

  5. HoHo Runs says:

I watch the Super Bowl for the commercial, but these days the media previews them — which is such a spoiler! I like my monthly calendar. I think a year would be too much for me. šŸ˜‰ My toenails are naked. It’s not pretty, but I let them “breathe” for a few months during the winter. Thanks for the coffee!

  6. That calander does look mighty helpful! Iā€™m making sriracha glazed pork kabobs for the game!

  7. vicki says:

I’m planning on making a buffalo jackfruit dip for the game tomorrow. Chili sounds real good too. Pretty toes, my toes could use some attention.

  8. Ha ha yes definitely want to keep up with the pedicures over the winter as well! I am going to make chili today too. Perfect day for it!

  9. Kim W says:

Your custom spice blend for chili sounds delicious! I am a big fan of garam masala and cinnamon, especially.

I really like your calendar. We have a weekly dry-erase calendar for the family that helps to keep us all on track in the short run, but I like the idea of having a long run visual, too.

    • Coco says:

I need help getting our spring and summer plans ingrained in my head! It does make the year seem shorter though, the first block is already done with.

  10. Teresa says:

Oh gosh, I am terrible at not getting regular pedicures during the winter months! I am actually scheduled for one on Monday however and it is so overdue …marathon training took an extra toll on my poor feet.

I’m with you regarding the super bowl …good commercials is what I look for. I always say that the Super Bowl is the one show that I actually leave the room BEFORE the commercials so that I can return to see them! Lol

  11. I’d tell you I almost forgot to link up — again! I totally forgot to do it with Runfessions.

The calendar actually looks quite cool. I like it. I bet my husband *might* like it because he’s always asking me when stuff is (although I’m guessing he probably still would).

No superbowl fans, no special food. I know I’m a party pooper!

    • Coco says:

Hah! My husband tends to ask me about things on the calendar too. Or, he will put things down and not cross them off if plans change.

  12. My feet aren’t too scary looking, but my toes do need a polish re-do. Ugh. I dread doing my toe nails in the winter because my feet as always so cold…and I hate hobbling around without socks while the polish dries. I know, first world probs, right? Cumin and cinnamon in chili? That sounds like a great combo!

  13. I am so intrigued by your spice blend that you use for chili!! It sounds delicious!!

I am in desperate need of a pedicure but I’m so ticklish that it takes so much effort to survive it. haha! I need to go because I’m going to start yoga on Fridays this coming week. Or, maybe I can just keep my socks on???? lol

    • Coco says:

Honestly, I’m sure the only person who will notice your toes in yoga is you. I couldn’t tell you if any of my “nieghbors” had pedicures. My feet are ticklish too!

  14. Clarinda says:

I always have good intentions with pedicures but then I get lazy. It was a real treat to go out for pedicures with my sister and niece was I was visiting Minnesota.

  15. Darlene says:

I recently made chili too – a perfect winter food.

I’m in it for the commercials and the half time show.

I let my toes breather during the winter and wear socks for yoga!

  16. January did feel like a long one, I will agree with you there! šŸ™‚
As far as the Super Bowl goes, I’m not a football fan, so I don’t care either way. LOL! But, I know there is so much excitement around this year’s game. I’m more into the puppy bowl or the kitty one, haha!

  17. I’m going to be on a plane for the Super Bowl. I’m rooting for the Eagles b/c I like the underdog! šŸ˜‰ I’m sad to miss the commercials.

I’ve been using paper month calendars, too. The year is overwhelming!

    Thanks for hosting!

  18. Kim G says:

I really like the calendar that you ordered from Amazon!

As far as the Super Bowl, I don’t really like either team, so I am more looking forward to the commercials and food šŸ™‚

  19. Being in Philly, we’re all about the Eagles!! The city has turned green, I really, really hope they win for the city’s sake!

I feel like it’s been years since they’ve had good SuperBowl commercials…we’ll see!

  20. I love year at a glance calendar! But I am a planner so that helps keep me in check!

I guess I am hoping Philly wins because Carson Wentz is from my home state and when to my alma mater.
