December Runfessions–Not Too Naughty

I’m a bit nervous sharing my runfessions right before Christmas because I don’t want Santa to put me on his “naughty” list, but maybe he will give me credit for coming clean.

Runfessions

Runfessions: Cleanse your sweaty soul (or soles) by posting your run- gym- and swimfessions on your blog and join the link up hosted by Marcia at Marcia’s Healthy Slice.

1.  I runfess that the only Cyber Monday shopping I did was to buy running related stuff for myself. I happened to see a great deal from Nuun on Facebook and I also bought the PR Race Pass that gives you four race entries for $116–that’s only $26 per race! If you’re local, you can still get this deal through December 31. (If you don’t want to run four of their races, you can share the codes with a friend.) I also snapped up the fantastic ugly sweater socks from ProCompression.

Xmas Socks

I promise not to wear them with my fantastic Christmas sweater.

2.  I runfess that the only things on my Christmas list are running related. (That’s why I need to make a good impression on Santa!). I asked for a medal rack and the Oofos flip flops everyone has been raving about.

3. I runfess that I have gotten lazy about using my headlamp and wearing reflective gear on my dark o’clock runs. I have no excuse except just forgetting and not caring enough to go back for them if I do remember. Luckily my neighborhood routes are pretty well lit, but there are some uneven sidewalks that might get the best of me if I’m not careful.

4. I runfess that I went up to my neighbbor’s house at dark o’clock in the morning to take this picture for the #RunChatHunt scavenger hunt. At the time, I thought they were out of town, but now I think they were home!

5. I runfess that while I don’t set yearly mileage goals, I just checked my 2015 mileage in Garmin Connect, and was happy to see that I only need 17 more miles to hit a nice round number (700 miles). Of course, I’l probably run a bit more than that, but not enough more to try for another round number.

Since I made five runfessions, I’m also joining the Friday Five link up hosted by Courtney at Eat Pray Run DC, Mar at Mar on the Run and Cynthia at You Signed Up for What!  My favorite winter activities are running, ice skating, and skiing.

Are you going to meet the goals you set for 2015?

Do you have any fitness items on your wishlist?

  1. My wish list was all running gear, most of it I had gotten a while back. Then I went into a running store last week and of course HAD TO HAVE another running jacket. Because I only have one. And its not that reflective. And not that warm.

Love the picture with the snowman !

  2. Marcia says:

I runfess that I didn’t set any running goals. My only goal (I can remember) was to finish a tri, which I did. I also runfess that I’ve never used Garmin Connect and I have no idea how many miles I ran. Very bad run blogger. That had to be hilarious if your neighbors saw you taking that selfie! Thanks for linking up!

  3. Nothing wrong with shopping for yourself. 🙂 I do it too often! Hmm, maybe that should have been a runfession (I’ve got mine set for tomorrow).

I haven’t had enough reflective stuff on, but that’s simply because I don’t own enough because normally I don’t run in the dark, but lately I have been occasionally.

At least now my husband can track me via the Road ID app, so at least he knows when I’m out running & where.

    • Coco says:

I wish that app sent a message when you end your run. I have to separately text my hsub that I back home safe, which sort of defeats the purpose!

  4. I do have one fitness item on my list, and that is a pair of pink compression socks. 🙂 I only have one pair and they are black, which I primarily wear under boots to work. I think pink will be fun for in the summer w/ shorts!

    • Coco says:

Oh, I think my first pair was pink because I had pink shoes. Now I have lime green, black and a few patterns. You can tell I like compression socks!

  5. Chaitali says:

The only cyber monday stuff I bought was for myself too. I hope you get those oofos! I love mine.

  6. Karen says:

I love the socks!! So cute 🙂
I hope you get a nice fancy medal rack. I confess I have already purchased a new pair of shoes and socks and I think it is time to stop shopping for my self.

  7. I most definitely won’t make my goals but hey that is ok! I can try again next year! I wonder if your neighbors were watching you take your picture. I think Santa will forgive you! TGIF!

  8. HoHo Runs says:

I made of couple of my goals (actually I don’t like that word and prefer to call them wishes) but had to make a major adjustment this Fall. My running miles will be pretty low this year as will my racing stats. It’s too funny you went to get a selfie with the snowman and your neighbors were home! Since I don’t do much shopping during the year, when I have to do it for Christmas — all I find is stuff I want!

  9. I was buying my husband PRO Compression socks for Christmas and just “happened” to add another pair into the cart for myself:) And there were a couple days I got lazy about my headlamp too, but I am always quickly reminded of how much I need it!

  10. So I won’t tell you what I want to do with one of my neighbor’s Christmas decorations but it is pretty um—funny….I see the Snowman and the reindeer on my run and my imagination runs wild..

I keep saying I’m an adolescent boy at heart. Or maybe I’m the Elf on the Shelf on the run?

  11. Kelli says:

I definitely did most of my Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping for myself. I know the feeling 🙂

  12. I hope Santa brings you all your running goodies!

  13. Awesome deal on the PR race! I might need to check that out!

    Those compression socks are cuuutteee!

Cute pic with the snowman 🙂

  14. love that pic with the snowman! Happy Christmas week 🙂

  15. haha, no shame. The only gifts I had purchased until this weekend were for myself 🙂 and they were running related.

  16. Nothing wrong with a few gifts for yourself 😉

  17. Some workout gear is definitely on my list this year! Your sweater socks are so cute!
