Get Ready For The Twelve Days Of Fitmas

Have you realized that on Monday there will only be twelve more days until Christmas? That makes Monday the perfect time to kick off the Twelve Days of Fitmas.

I’m sure you could find hundreds if not thousands of Twelve Days of Fitmas workouts on Instagram and Pinterest. So, what makes this one special different? Well, 12 of your favorite fitness bloggers collaborated to create a fun program. We each picked a favorite exercise to give to you—sorry, no returns!

Twelve Days of Fitmas

How does the Twelve Days of Fitmas program work? On the first day, do one rep of the first exercise (one push-up). On the second day, do two reps of the second exercise (two jumping jacks) and one rep of the first exercise (one push-up). On the third day, do three reps of the third exercise (bicycle crunches or dead bugs), two reps of the second exercise (two jumping jacks) and one rep of the first exercise (one push-up). Got it?

If you’re confused, just listen to The Twelve Days of Christmas, and it will all make sense.

Why do some days have two options? We included days that have a high impact option and a low impact option. Of course, you should modify any exercise as needed to suit your fitness level, mood, or extent of egg nog consumption.

When does the Twelve Days of Fitness start? While the twelve days of Christmas don’t start until after Christmas, this Twelve Days of Fitmas will start Monday, December 13th and run through December 24th.

How do I participate?

  • First, make sure you don’t have any health issues or injuries that would make any of these exercises risky for you, including checking with your physician if appropriate.
  • Make a plan to carve out a few minutes a day to do the day’s exercises. (Keep in mind the workout gets longer each day.)

    What a great idea!
    These 12 exercises are well designed and even on the last day it shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to do.
