The Boulder Flatirons

Last weekend we visited my daughter in Boulder, Colorado. It was a crazy trip–I got home from Copenhagen on Thursday afternoon, unpacked, did laundry, and re-packed for our 8 am flight on Friday–but it was worth it to see her and celebrate her college graduation. Plus, I never get tired of looking at the Boulder Flatirons.

Rainy Boulder Flatirons

We hit the ground running on Friday, meeting my daughter for brunch and then going shopping at the Pearl Street Mall. We didn’t check into our hotel until a torrential rain storm came through, causing flash flood warnings.

It didn’t take long for the storm to blow over, but there were still a few lingering clouds.

Cloudy Boulder Flatirons

Saturday morning I woke up to blue skies and pink clouds.

Sunrise Boulder Flatirons

I left my husband to go for a run. Yes, I felt guilty, but this view was worth it. 😉

My daughter’s boyfriend works as a butcher at a small grocery store. When we found out that the restaurant across the street uses his ground beef for their burgers, we all had to have one for dinner.

The Fork

 Best burger ever–really!

  2. Wow you travel a lot! Those are gorgeous pics! Congrats on your daughter’s graduation. We are are going out to Aspen next month and look forward to running out there if I can stand the altitude. Didn’t go well last time.

I haven’t been to Aspen since I was a kid. When I ran in Boulder last year I sparked my asthma that had been dormant for years. 🙁

Well aren’t YOU the woman about town. Glad you got to see your baby girl. That cheeseburger looks amazing. I’ve been wanting a burger lately. My stomachs must acquire one real soon.

Ps. While vacationing, I would rather sneak to the hotel’s breakfast buffet by myself than sneak out for a run. But you know that about me already.

  4. I have never been to Boulder, but it looks amazing.
I’d have to run while there (well maybe run walk, those hills, but still).

Yes – I do try to get in a run or a workout even on vacation!

  6. Congratulations on her graduation!!! Amazing views. I would have squeezed in a run too. Glad things are good with her boyfriend, how’s their pup?
