In September I finally stopped resisting the call of yoga, and added this Rodney Yee A.M. Yoga DVD to my library:

I like it a lot, and have been using it at least once a week. Since I wrote the DVD review for Bob Harper Pure Burn Super Strength, friends have been asking me to write a review for this one. So, here goes.
The DVD has five different programs, each about 20 minutes long:
- Standing Poses
- Twists
- Back Bends
- Forward Bends
- Hip Openers
In theory, you would do one each day, Monday through Friday. My favorites are “Standing Poses” and “Twists” and I have never tried “Back Bends” so you will have to figure that one out yourself.
The picture on the cover is pretty much the “view” during the workout. Rodney is on top of the “red rocks” formation in Glen Canyon, Arizona–what an awesome view (and he’s not bad to look at either)! The background music is what you might expect for a yoga DVD–it sets the right mood and is calming but not distracting.
The cuing is very good. When you hold a pose, Rodney constantly gives you tips to improve it. There also is an option for minimal cuing, but I need the full instructional mode.
Here’s a brief summary of each workout. I am sure that I am forgetting moves and may not have the correct names for the poses.

?????
I really think the programs are a good balance for my running and my desk-sitting. I always feel so good when I am done, even if I have to jump up and face a hectic day.
If you want to add this DVD to your collection you can purchase it from Amazon here.
I have a "yoga for athletes" DVD by Rodney that I love that sounds a lot like this DVD. It has a 45 minute full practice at the beginning, and then several sport-specific quick practices that are each about 10 minutes and very targeted. It doesn't take much time and does make a big difference in how my muscles feel – sounds very much like this DVD.
I've heard that that's a good one too. At this point, I can't get over the "45 minutes" aspect, but since I am enjoying the 65 min Bob Harper Strength DVD, I guess I will never say never!
I'll be honest: I've done the 45 minute one twice. The sport specific one (swimming for me), I've done pretty consistently.
I have A.M. and P.M. Yoga and I love the A.M. session (which Rodney leads). It's about 20 minutes and includes a few moves from each of the categories you list. I think the DVD you review here would be a great supplement to what I am already doing! I am moving toward yoga more and more!
Just so you know, after I left my previous reply, I ordered the DVD! 🙂
Awesome! Let me know which program is your favorite.
(and too bad I don't get a referral fee!)
