Last night I slept on the sofa to be close to Sally. We have a big black leather sofa that it is easy to fall asleep on, but not very comfortable to stay asleep on. Add that to the fact that I was using throw pillows instead of my own pillow, and it was not a comfortable night.
I fell asleep @ 10:00, but woke up @ 11:30 to news of the shooting at Johns Hopkins University Hospital (eerily similar to the re-run of Gray’s Anatomy that I had just watched), and then got anxious because my son wasn’t home from his “away” football game. I calculated and recalculated the game start time, likely end time, how long they might have lingered before getting on the bus, and still thought they “should have been home by now.”
He did get home @ midnight, and then Sally wanted to go out, so I probably went to sleep @ 12:30.
By the time my alarm went off @ 5:00, I knew I was going to hit snooze a few times and do a yoga workout. I also knew that I was going to do my YogaFit workout–no time to mess around with pay-per-view, and no chance I would risk screwing up my DVR the week before my shows come back on again.
I got up @ 5:30, let Sally out, put on some workout clothes and headed down to the basement for my workout. It did not disappoint.
It was the perfect mix of stretching and strengthening and left my back feeling fine.
So, yeah, this yoga thing has its benefits.
