Love My Speed Workouts!

Thursday I was tempted to run outside because the weather was so gorgeous, but I wanted to stick to my plan for a speed workout. It was too dark to run on the track, so I opted for my treadmill.

I punched in 45 minutes, spent 5 minutes walking, 5 minutes running at 5.7 mph, and 5 min running at 6.0 mph. That was my warm-up, and left me 30 min for speed intervals. 

I did 5 cycles of 2 min at 6.7 mph/1 min at 5.7 mph, and then 5 cycles of 2 min at 7.0 mph/1 min at 5.7 mph. Then I walked for 5 min to cool down. The sweat was pouring off – love that!

I felt my ITB (both sides) during the faster intervals, but nothing that lingered.

I wrapped up with lots of stretching and some crunches on my fit ball.
