It All Adds Up To 2000 Peloton Strength Workouts

I kicked off May by taking my 2000th Peloton strength workout. It wasn’t the hardest, longest, or most memorable class I’ve taken, but it all adds up.

It All Adds Up

When I realized I was closing in on my 2000th Peloton strength milestone, I stalked the live class schedule to see if I could make a live class work for a shoutout, but none of my favorite instructors were teaching at a time that worked for me. I resigned myself to my regularly scheduled programming, and ended up hitting 2000 on May 1, when I started my day like I usually do—with a 10 min core class.

At first I thought I should have chosen a more significant class for my 2000th—a favorite artist series class, a 45 min Jess Sims class, or that JJ upper body push class—but then I realized that it was fitting that I hit 2000 with a run-of-the-mill core class.

It’s the 10 min core classes that started my daily Peloton habit back in those dark days of 2020, and it’s the 10 min core classes that I usually manage to squeeze in even when I don’t have time for anything else. Ironically, if there’s a day I didn’t take a core class, it was usually because I was holding out for a live class for a milestone shoutout.

They sure raise the bar for the higher badges!

They say consistency is key, and consistency with 10 min core workouts got me a long way to that 2K badge.

Weekly Wrap

After that 2000th Peloton strength workout, my focus this week was treating my ITB right and taking Sam Yo’s special Star Wars class on May 4th.

Sunday: 3.25 Tread Miles
I was sitting on 1999 strength classes and not ready to pull the trigger, so I opted for a Tread Bootcamp class. By starting with a warm-up run, I was able to log 3.25 miles. I really liked the class format and plan to repeat this workout plan with Andy’s other 30 min Tread Bootcamps.

Monday:  Core + LB Strength + 30 min Intervals + Arms Ride
I ripped the Band-Aid off and took that 2000th strength class! Then I took a glutes + legs class, and snuck in even more strength in Hannah’s Intervals + Arms ride.

Tuesday: 3.25 Tread Miles
My legs were itching for a run with some speed work, so I opted for a tread run. This was a relatively low-key class, and my ITB did not yell at me after. 🙂

Wednesday: Core + Upper Body Strength + 20 min Peloton Ride
I made it an upper body strength day and tacked on a 20 min ride. I’m always surprised how hard I can work in those 20 minutes—and how sweaty I get!

Thursday: 10 min Core + Lower Body Strength + 30 min Star Wars Ride
May the fourth has become Star Wars day in social media culture, and Peloton marked the day with a few Star Wars-themed classes (fully licensed from Disney). I opted for Sam Yo’s ride and it did not disappoint. He always goes all in his theme rides.

Can you see his light saber behind that glare?

Friday: 4.5 min Scooby Miles
It was pink day in my MRTT group’s “run the rainbow” challenge, and I went all in with my pink tights. 💕

Saturday: 8.2 Scooby Miles
I walked outside in long sleeves and knew right away I would be too hot, so Scooby had to wait for me to change. I already had my Lawyers Have Heart hat on, so I decided to go all in and wore one of my many Lawyers Have Heart t-shirts—two weeks until race day!

My ITB is feeling a lot better. It still needs TLC, but I am aware that I am at that dangerous point between injury and recovery where it’s tempting to do too much, and forcing myself to hold back.

A huge thank you to Deborah and Kim for hosting the Weekly Run Down link up.

Do you have a daily habit with benefits that really add up?

Congrats on 2000 Peloton workouts! You are certainly consistent and that it something to be proud of!

I feel you on coming back from injury–I’m still a little beat up from my trail race but finally feeling better. It’s so tempting to push it. But I did that on Wednesday and I’m paying for it, lol. We’ll see how today’s trail race goes.

  2. Congrats on 2k workouts. I usually don’t realize my milestone is coming up until I see it but always a nice surprise. I am about to hit a 4 year streak though. Hope the ITB is feeling better. Do you ever take a rest day?

    • Coco says:

I usually count my yoga day as a rest day, but last week I didn’t want to get up so early to make it to class. 😉

  3. Jenny says:

Congratulations!!!!! I think consistency is the key to just about everything. There’s some saying like “It’s better to be consistently good than occasionally great.” Not that you’re not occasionally great as well! Glad the IT band is feeling good. Yes, it’s tricky trying to hold back while simultaneously getting ready for a race. Sounds like what you’re doing is working.

  4. Well done on that 2K mark! Like Deborah, I never am aware of my Pelo milestones until they’ve happened. I should pay better attention to them, but then again, I guess they’re not priorities (?). Glad to hear the ITB is feeling better!

  5. Congrats on hitting 2000! That is quite the accomplishment. I love how you realized that taking your “regular” class to get that last one in was fitting. Consistency, indeed!

I just changed from some medium weight sweats to a skirt — feel so good!

  6. Michelle says:

Congrats on hitting 2,000! And I agree that it does seem fitting that you marked the occasion with a core class 🙂

I’m glad your ITB was quiet this week. Fingers crossed you can avoid being sidelined.

  7. Debbie says:

Congrats on taking your 2,000th Peloton strength class!

I hope all goes well as you ease back into running and that your ITB responds well.

  8. Catrina says:

    Congrats, Coco!
I’m wondering: do you only get the stats on the number of workouts or do they also tell you how much time you invested? If you’re averaging 20 minutes per workout then that’s nearly 28 days of non-stop working out in 3 years. AMAZING!!

  9. Melissa says:

WOW- 2,000 workouts is amazing! especially strength workouts! That’s more peloton than I’ve ever done – I still need to get on the bandwagon. And I’m especially bad about doing strength training so I’m doubly impressed. Congrats!

  10. Jenn says:

It sounds like you’re being wise and not pushing too hard. I know the temptation, but you’re doing the right thing.

And 2000???? That’s amazing! Well done!

  11. Kim G says:

Awesome job hitting 2,000 strength classes! I’m still working toward my goal of hitting 1,000 strength classes but the end of the year, lol.

  12. Jessie says:

Consistency is key! 2000 is a lot! Pretty incredible that you’ve stuck with it, even as other options opened up again.
