I love today’s Friday Five theme because I love getting to know other bloggers. I can’t wait to read the “Five Things About Me” that others share in the Friday Five link up sponsored by Eat Pray Run DC, Mar on the Run and You Signed Up for What.
1. I am a runner. With a blog called Running With Perseverance and social media names based on Got2Run4Me, it’s no surprise that I like to run, but it’s only recently that I’ve realized that I am a runner. I love to run. I plan my weekends around my long run. I do my best to go running on business trips and vacations. I wake up looking forward to my run, even if I haven’t gotten nearly enough sleep. Running gets me going and keeps me going. Running is my breathing space in my otherwise hectic days.
2. I am an attorney. While I don’t write about lawyering nearly as much as I write about running, I love my job as a patent attorney. I care so much about my legal field that I have an “award winning” legal blog that I don’t have to worry about monetizing or promoting on instagram, although it does have a twitter account ….
3. I married my high school sweetheart. I met my husband when I was 15 and we celebrated our 25th anniversary last year. He is thoughtful, romantic, and a good shopper. He puts up with me when I’m stressed about work, sweaty after a long run, or staging a picture of our dinner for a What I Ate Wednesday post.
4. I am a Francophile. French was my favorite subject in high school and I minored in French in college. I’ve only been to France twice, but I love Paris, the French language, French food, and a nice bottle of French wine.
5. I am an introverted homebody at heart. Being a parent and advancing in my career have forced me to come out of my comfort zone, but I am a shy introvert at heart and have to quash those old insecurities when I walk into a room full of people I don’t know. I travel a lot for work, but I really enjoy being at home–and still have not planned our summer vacation! I do enjoy visiting new places, but have to overcome a lot of inertia to get out of the house.

Being a patent attorney sounds cool. I have a college friend who left her career as a chemical engineer to go to law school with hopes of being a patent attorney.
I too am a pretty introverted homebody! You seem to have figured out how to balance it with other demands very well.
Interesting when we shift from “I run” to “I am a runner”.
Send your friend my way if she has questions!
Running has a way of becoming part of you, doesn’t it? I love that you met your husband in high school- I did, too! We didn’t start dating until college, but he was one of my high school crushes. 🙂
I love hearing about other young love lasting! <3 <3
How sweet that you married your HS love! Wow you have 2 blogs that you manage-how do you have time for that? Congrats again on that awesome 10k time!
I’m definitely an introvert as well. I used to be a dancer now I’m a runner and not quite sure how that even happened LOL
Running can be sneaky that way. 😉
Awww, I love to hear that people married their HS sweethearts! Being. Patent attorny actually sound much more fun than other types of attornies. Congrats on that award winning blog!
I’m not an outgoing person either. Sometimes I wonder if it’s always necessary to do get out of my comfort zone. When should you push your own boundaries, and when should you respect yourself and who you are?!
I hope one day I know the answer.
I think you always should respect who you are, but sometimes pushing yourself out of your comfort zone helps you learn more about yourself.
Yes! You most definitely are a runner! I didn’t realize that you and your husband were high school sweethearts!
Oh, I love this!!! Great reading a little more about you. And #3 is so sweet 🙂
okay…i NEED you to plan that vacation, lady 🙂 loved reading this post — so fun to learn about you!
I got close to planning it, but now my son’s college schedule has me going back to the drawing board. :-/
You are most certainly a runner! I will call myself one when I am like you, happy to get up in the morning to run…not yet! And how amazing to be married to your high school sweetheart! I wish you guys 25+ more happy years!
Great list. Always fun to learn about other bloggers.
Very cool about your award winning blog:) Sounds like you are in your perfect profession:)
Loved that you married your hs sweetheart! I am impressed you manage multiple blogs! Superstar!
It’s a passion — or insanity — or a bit of both!
My 15 year old son was in the room when I read this so I told him that you met your husband when you were his age – he thought that was crazy!!!!
It is weird when I think about it in terms of my own kids ….
Love this post and getting to know things about you! I also love French language and culture, and have been to France!
High school sweethearts! I love hearing stories like that. Congrats!
I would love to visit France, or anywhere in Europe really.
