Well, we made to the last day of the first month of 2025, and since it’s Friday it’s time for the first 2025 runfessions link-up. Join me over at Marcia’s Healthy Slice where we can cleanse our souls soles before we head into the new year.
You also may be joining the Fit Five Friday Link-Up with Darlene, Michelle, Renée, Jenn, and Zenaida.
First 2025 Runfessions
I runfess that between getting a Peloton bike for Christmas and the frigid weather, running wasn’t my priority this month. I did bundle up for one long-ish run before the first snow, but mostly opted for shorter runs on my tread.
I runfess that even though I use my treadmill to avoid frigid outdoor temperatures, I still crack open my basement door to get some fresh air. One morning I did that when it was 9°F, and I swear my bare legs were starting to sting from the cold air. 🥶
I Pelofess I was thrilled when my husband took me up on my offer to create a Peloton account for him (the “All-Access” membership required for the bike permits multiple household members) and started a strength program, but less excited when he wanted to use my bike. 😝 He’d poo-pooed the whole concept of indoor cycling with an instructor, but now that he’s taken the FTP test and is talking about his output, I think he’s sold—at least until outdoor conditions improve.
I picked his name, but he picked that goofy pic of Scooby 🤣
I runfess I don’t have any big race goals for 2025, but am committed to participating in the Lawyers Have Heart event in May. For now, I’ve got my sights on the 10K and am contemplating following Peloton’s new “Push Your Pace” program to kick-off my training—maybe in March.
What are you already runfessing in 2025?
Well, if your husband wants to use your bike, he’s just going to have to wait his turn. Second priority, I’m afraid! 😆 At least it’s nice to see he’s hooked.
Fingers crossed that the 10K in May works out for you!
Cocosbeau. Love it.
My hubby was having knee issues and couldn’t play tennis. I suggested my stationary bike. Nope.
I’m having a hard time squeezing in 3 miles in these frigid temps. If I didn’t sign up for a half I would not be doing long runs.
Good luck with the 10k. See you in March.
Well, good thing your husband is retired- he can use your bike later in the day while you’re at work.
I can see why you’re not motivated to train in the freezing cold, with your treadmill option and shiny new bike. I like fresh air, but am not sure I’d open the door in 9 degrees- that’s hard core.
It is very easy (and rewarding) to get sucked into the Peloton world. I think it’s great that he wants to dive in as well. Have fun together! I’m trying to get m y husband to do ski workout
