Jumping Into The January 2024 Coffee Date
If we were having coffee at my house, I would brew a pot of Starbucks Peppermint Mocha coffee and offer you the last of the Christmas cookies.
I don’t usually buy flavored coffees, but picked this up on a whim and love it!
Speaking of Starbucks, if we were having coffee, I would tell you I was surprised (but glad) my Giant grocery store was open on Christmas (we were out of coffee filters!) and even more surprised the Starbucks was open.
I am loving my sparkly manicure!
If we were having coffee, I would show you the puzzle I completed in December. Since I didn’t give up my puzzle table for our Christmas tree this year (relegating it to our less-used living room), I felt extra pressure to get it done.
so.much.snow.
I finished it on Christmas Eve, and then did a double take when I saw this New Yorker ad on Instagram!
If we were having coffee, I would ask if you have made any New Year’s resolutions, chosen a “word” for 2024, or set any big goals. I haven’t made a resolution for ages, but this year I have got to be better about moving throughout the day. My hamstring doesn’t like sitting for hours on end, so I’ve got even more reason to make sure I get up every hour or so.
I’ve been feeling rudderless for a while—can I still blame the pandemic?—so I’m choosing a trio of purposeful words for 2024.
What would you tell me over coffee?
My word has not yet come to me. I wonder if I should just use 2023’s word, which was mindset, because that still needs work!
That’s funny about the ad using the same photo as the puzzle!
I was really confused when I first saw it!
No 2024 resolutions, but more of a commitment to “return” to a few things that I’ve been slacking on (ahem, daily push-ups & leg lifts). I’ve used the phrase Blissful Persistence for a few years, and it’s on repeat again for 2024. That’s a funny coincidence with the puzzle & ad!
“Return” is a good word!
I have chosen a word which I plan to write about next week. No resolutions for me but I’m choosing to focus more on what brings me joy and work towards letting go of what does not. Your puzzle looks great
My word is JOY.
And my amended goal is heal.
Love both words!
All of the snow pieces in that puzzle – wowza!
I like your trio of words! My word for 2024 is “better” – reminder to let go of comparison and perfectionism and to focus on improvement.
I think your hamstring will give you gentle reminders to move more throughout the day! And your word trio should serve you well. I don’t have a word for 2024, but rather a phrase- “Every Day Counts.”
You definitely pick hard puzzles- that a LOT of snow. I sent my sister and BIL two New Yorker puzzles for Christmas and they completed both of them within a week. Meanwhile, my own Christmas puzzle was an epic fail, and I ended up putting it away unfinished. We will take it out again next year!
Well, people GIVE me hard puzzles. 😉 I had another advent puzzle (one mini one a day I gave up on.
My word of the year is “Intentional” – I’ve been winging it and also feeling kind of rudderless.
Love that puzzle. We haven’t done one in a while. I may start one while my husband is skiing this weekend.
Hope to see you in Chicago (or DC) soon!
That’s a good word too.
I definitely hope to see you again soon
I don’t really drink coffee but peppermint mocha always smells so good! :]
I still like to blame the pandemic for everything, so go right ahead! 😛 Plan, purpose, + pursue are definitely great words for the year though!
I love that coffee! Last year I bought a bunch of Keurig pods that were marked down after Christmas.
My word is “Self-Care”.
That is a great puzzle. I told my sister that we should do one together.
That’s a good word/focus too!
I’m sitting here drinking peppermint mocha. When I buy at home it’s always flavored (that, caramel vanilla or french vanilla) because life is too short for boring coffee.
I’m getting puzzled at this week – you and my friend Elizabeth. Have to introduce you some time. YOu’ll puzzle for hours.
That is so cool with the puzzle and then seeing the ad later! How wild!
I do love your word, but I have to say I personally have no goals, resolutions or a word for the year. I know it would probably help me to have *something* but right now all I want is peace in my head and to feel “normal” mentally and physically (like literally at the same time) for more than a day. First things first.
I’m sorry you’re feeling rudderless. I think that’s a mass experience these days. My word is “consistency”. I need to be better about keeping up with myself and my big ideas.
I don’t think I left my house on Christmas. I’m glad you were able to get filters AND Starbucks.
