Welcome to the June Ultimate Coffee Date link up! I know this is a busy time of year with graduations and early summer vacations, and am glad you took the time to stop by. Don’t forget to visit my co-host Deborah–who is celebrating her son’s high school graduation this weekend!–and comment on other blogs in the link up to make it more like a real coffee date.

June Ultimate Coffee Date
If we were having coffee, I probably would spend too much time talking about Scooby! He really is settling in well, and has taught us that while he doesn’t mind being in his crate while we’re gone, he’d rather sleep on the sofa at night.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I was interested to see if Scooby would make a good running companion, and so far it seems like he’s up to it as long as it’s not too hot and humid. I started with a few 1.5 mile run/walk sessions, then tried 2.5-3 miles mostly running, and then did my 4 mile loop running most of it.
He still has energy to lunge after squirrels when we’re done, but also is ready for some serious nap time.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that this is the perfect time to figure out running with Scooby because the only race on my calendar is the Lawyers Have Heart next weekend, and I’m doing the 5K instead of the 10K this year.
You can support the American Heart Association via my donation page.

If we were having coffee, I’d ask you about your summer vacation plans. We have the Farm To Fork Fondo–Pennsylvania Dutch at the end of June and a big hiking trip in Yellowstone at the end of July. I’d also like to wrangle a few days at the beach in August, but I’m not sure I can take more time off from work.
What would you tell me over coffee?

Aww, glad to hear that Scooby is settling in well! <3! He's so cute! I'm hoping to adopt a dog someday too and hopeful that I'll have a running buddy in the mix! 😛
Hope you have fun at your 5k next weekend!
Scooby looks like he’s got a lot of personality!! Isn’t it fun having a dog?
Yes, he’s a cutie! It is fun — more fun when it’s not raining so much. 😉

Scooby’s adorable! What a great running companion! Hiking in Yellowstone will be amazing.
We’re so excited!
Will Scooby be allowed to run the 5K with you? Or would you even consider running a race with him?
We just cancelled our vacation plans and I am totally at peace with it. In fact it was my idea.
Thanks for the link up. It’s our first time linking up!
We’re so glad you joined us! I hadn’t even thought of doing the 5K with Scooby. I think dogs are allowed at this race, but that would be too much of a hassle I think.
oh that’s great that Scooby likes to run with you and can keep up! I am never in town for the Lawyers have heart race and I’ve never done it. Maybe next year when we are on a different school schedule. Your hiking trip sounds amazing. Always fun to catch up over coffee!
It’s great that Scooby has settled in so well! And it sounds like he’s going to make a good running buddy.
No big vacation plans this summer – there are big house projects on the horizon so staycation may be the word of the season. I do want to get a few days in at the beach.
Thanks for the link-up 🙂
My dog will ONLY lay on the couch and she’s 150 pounds so she takes the whole thing up!
Scooby is so cute! As far as I am concerned you can talk about him every time we have coffee. I wish we had dogs who liked to run! However, there is something really nice about taking them for a mile walk and they look like Scooby did after a run! ;o)
Don’t you just loving having a dog to run with. You can always count on Scooby to want to go with you…any route, any time, (almost) any distance.
Scooby is awesome! I am loving all of the Scooby pictures and stories 🙂
Aw, thanks! We’re enjoying him too!
Awwww I love Scooby! You can never talk too much about your pup and he sooo deserves to sleep on that sofa! My Chester boy has turned out to be a great running buddy …rescues are simply the best!????????????
Scooby is adorable! Or is he too big to be adorable? I hope he is a good runner. My dog is now 12, and can’t run with me any more, but we go for some long walks together. You will be coming up my way when you do the Farm to Fork Fondo. I live in Lancaster County. Hope you have a great time!
It’s great that Scooby is already a part of the family 🙂 And he’s liking the running? Perfect!!
OMG – I’m in love with Scooby! What a cutie!
Aw, thanks! He is a sweet heart.
Scooby is so cute! It looks like you guys are having a lot of fun together :). It must be fun to have a dog to run with every once in a while!
I’m actually going to the Bahamas in late July as a family vacation. Still so much to figure out but I know we’ll have fun! Next weekend we have a wedding to attend in Nebraska that should be fun!
Wow. Nebraska and the Bahamas! I’ve never been to Nebraska. I think our cruise ship stopped at the Bahamas? It was a while ago.
Scooby looks like a happy puppy! Yellowstone sounds so fun- I would love to go back with my kids- it is awesome in every way!
It sounds like Scooby it fitting in swell as the newest member of the family. Our new (old) foster dog has taken over the coach in the den, I think because he can get on it without really jumping. 😉 I hope you get a few days at the beach (that is where I am right now!) Thanks for coffee!
