It’s a holiday weekend, so I don’t know who will show up for this edition of the Ultimate Virtual Coffee Date, but I am always up for coffee–even when the weather might call for an iced latte!
If we were having coffee together, I would tell you that I am glad that I only have one business trip on my calendar for July, and I hope it stays that way! In June I was in Boulder, Miami and San Diego–fun places to be but I missed having down time at home.
If we were having coffee together, I would tell you that I wish my husband enjoyed fireworks more. When I was a kid, we always packed a picnic and watched the fireworks on the Mall in Washington, D.C., but my husband doesn’t think the spectacle is worth dealing with the crowds and traffic. We’ve dragged him into the city a few times, but he’s just as happy watching them on t.v.–how lame is that?

If we were having coffee together, I would tell you that I am proud of how well I did with my 10,000 steps/day goal in June. I didn’t hit 10,000 steps every day, but I made more of an effort and dragged took my husband and my dog on some long after-dinner walks to hit 10,000 steps.
I hit at least 10,000 steps 24/30 days, and there were only 2 days that I fell really short.
If we were having coffee together, I would tell you that I decided not to run the Go Fourth 8K yesterday. It doesn’t really count as a DNS since I never signed up (I was planning on race day registration), but I still feel odd about it. I wanted to do a 10 mile run with my MRTT group on Saturday (today), which made pushing myself in an 8K the day before a questionable decision, especially since I’ve been feeling a bit run down lately. Between that and the logistics, I opted for a more relaxed morning at home–it was a holiday after all!

Did you watch fireworks on the 4th?
The only year we watched fireworks on TV was when Jordan was a baby. Since then, we have always done fireworks and watched them live – one of our favorite holidays!!!
Glad you gave yourself a break on the race since your were feeling a bit run down!!
My family is not that into fireworks either. We watched Independence Day last night bc I kept seeing everyone posting about it. Realizing it came out 17 years ago was shocking and amusing to my son. It was a gorgeous day to run today hope you enjoyed!
The once a year fireworks are totally worth it in my opinion.
My 5 year old LOVED the fireworks! I had more fun watching her and her expressions!! Nice job on the steps!
