Catch What Runs — Runningluv Review

I was at the right place on Twitter at the right time a few weeks ago, and answered a “call for bloggers” from Runningluv, looking for bloggers to write Runningluv reviews.

Runningluv Review

What is Runningluv? As described on the Runningluv website:

IT’S A TOWEL. IT’S A TISSUE. IT SOLVES THE ISSUE.

The band of the gluv is a quick drying, lightweight, moisture wicking, Lycra™/Spandex and Nylon blend. Lycra™ stretches up to several times its original shape, therefore allowing the fit for most hand sizes. It easily molds back to retain its original shape.

The highly absorbent towel-and-tissue is a Bamboo/Organic Cotton terry blend. It is breathable and hypoallergenic. One side features small, short loops with a soft texture, and thirsty absorbency. Perfect for the sweatmode™. The opposite side is flat, absorbent and gentle to the skin. Great forsnotmode™.

The runningluv™ is created to be a simple, functional, and fun accessory to your workout or sports attire. Although originally created for running, the runningluv™ is so much more. Whatever your luv is, just add the gluv to your favorite sport. Because it allows your hands to be free, you are sure to see bikers, walkers, dancers, band campers, track members, group fitness goers, and more sporting their runningluv™.

Got that? Basically, it’s a washcloth-sized towel with a wrist strap, so you can “catch what runs” when you are out running. 😉

After checking out the numerous color/pattern options, I settled on a white towel with a light green band. It came within a few days, and was packaged with an instruction sheet with diagrams of different ways to wear it, and a suggestion to try different ways to see what works best for you.

I tried the over the hand method.

But settled on the around the wrist method.

This week brought a welcome break in the weather after last week’s heat wave. Since it was relatively cool (low 70s) and partly cloudy, I decided to do a 10 mile run over the Woodrow Wilson bridge.

10 Mile Run

There were so many people out on the bike path! It was really motivating to see friends walking and running in small groups, moms running with their kids on scooters, and moms and dads pushing strollers! There also were cyclists out, and I am sorry to say that most did not even say “on your left” as they whizzed past! WTF, people!!

The Runningluv held up well and stayed secure as I ran. While I mostly used it like a wristband, there were a few times when I was glad to be able to open it up to get sweat out of my eyes. When I was done with my run, it was really nice to be able to wipe off my whole face before I went to the grocery store and Starbucks to get ready for my ice bath.

I think I will get a Runningluv for my running partner, to commemorate a particularly snotty run that we had last winter! 🙂

Runningluv sent me the product pictured above in exchange for agreeing to write a review. All comments and opinions are my own.

What do you use to wipe the sweat from your brow?

Do you see others out and about on your running/walking/cycling route?

Pretty darn neat! I like it. I'd be catching snot. Graphic, but true.
I'll ask my runner-kid if he's interested in this.
