I have a pretty small purse, but I often find myself digging around for something I know must be inside my purse somewhere— usually my car key.
I knew things had gotten out of hand when I couldn’t find my inhaler before a run, but found it in the bottom of my purse a few hours later. Since I only have mild exercise-induced asthma I don’t usually carry it with me, but I had stashed it in purse for my trip to Fitbloggin’ a few weeks ago and then forgotten it was there.
This weekend I decided to do the only thing that would make me clean out my purse–dump everything out and only put back what I really need to carry around.
These are essentials:
My wallet, business card holder, work key card holder–all went back in first.
I don’t think I need quite this many personal items.
One of those long Clinique lipsticks is used up and needed to be thrown away, and
I probably can get by with just one lip balm.
I put the inhaler by my running gear, and
put everything else back in my purse.
I don’t know how I ended up with this much chocolate!
I threw out the worn looking piece in the red wrapper,
put two pieces back in my purse
(you never know when you will need a piece of chocolate!),
and put the rest away in my pantry.
I had no idea I had these snacks in my purse!
They must be more leftovers from my Fitbloggin’ trip.
I put them both back in the pantry, although the pumpkin seeds may be too stale by now.
Then there was the usual stash of coupons, receipts, and grocery store cards.
I tossed the expired coupons, put the work receipts in my work bag,
and put the rest away where I might be able to find them when I need them!
That left this random collection.
I always carry a USB drive and earbuds.
The beads are from a church craft project.
These all went back in my purse.
After all that, I didn’t end up getting rid of that much stuff,
but at least now my purse is sorted and organized.
When’s the last time you cleaned out your purse?
What’s the oddest thing you ever found in your purse?
