Three Things Thursday (The Salted Caramel Edition)

Have you noticed that “salted caramel” seems to be a popular flavor this season? I never thought of myself as a big caramel fan, but I am totally hooked on this fad.

My absolute favorite are the salted caramel cake pops at Starbucks.

They have just the right amount of fudgey chocolate cake, a thick chocolate shell, and a  drizzle of caramel–that’s a lot of tastebud satisfaction for 180 calories.

For a lighter dose of caramel, this is my new favorite latte drink.

That’s a non-fat latte with caramel drizzle!

When I want to go all-out, I savor one of these

Artisan Salted Caramels

or a square or two of one of these.

Have you tried any salted caramel creations?

We had a Salted Caramel Apple Pie at Thanksgiving that was amazing. Plus there was lots of extra caramel leftover that made for some tasty ice cream sundaes.

Hmmm… perhaps I'm missing out here. I haven't tried anything salter and caramel.

  5. I love salted caramel, but just a traditional Sees Candy-like thing. It doesn't do much for me as a coffee drink.

I haven't tried salted caramel yet but I guess I better get on the train! My husband loves caramel and he loves milk chocolate so better get him some of these goodies to try!

  7. Yes! I love the salted caramel phase… too many goodies this time of year, but that one is definitely worth the splurge. 🙂

I've had the Godiva salted caramel milk chocolate – delicious! And of course I love artisan. Sometimes the salted caramel things are kind of artificial-tasting – like a TJ's salted caramel belgian chocolate I sampled….you will be happy to know that I threw the rest away when I did not like the first bite! I also like using coarse kosher salt in some baked goods like Ina Garten oatmeal/dark brown sugar cookies – great enhancement of the taste!
