Four Habits For Better Sleep

Last weekend I was feeling down in the dumps, but I couldn’t figure out why. I wasn’t particularly stressed over work. I wasn’t particularly worried about my kids. I didn’t feel like I was on the verge of depression. I just felt blah. When I fell asleep in the car on the way home from my son’s championship lacrosse game (Go Red Devils!) and still could not keep my eyes open much past 9:00 pm, I realized that I probably was just plain tired.

The First Step Is The Hardest–Or Is It?

We’ve all heard the cliché: The first step is the hardest. It sure can feel that way when we are getting ready to chase after a big goal. In July I run the PVTC Go Fourth 8K. In October, I run the Army 10 Miler. Still, whenever the time comes to register for the Lawyers Have Heart, I hesitate. I just don’t like this race! Between the time of year (mid-June) and the route (the last mile in the blazing sun on the Whitehurst Freeway is brutal), this 10K is much harder than any 10 mile training run. But this race has become important to me for more personal reasons than chasing a PR or at least trying to beat the line.
