Cycling In Prince William Forest National Park

When Conte’s Hill Ride was canceled, we decided to venture south and take our bikes to Prince William Forest National Park. Although I’ve lived here all my life, I’ve never been to this park, even though it’s less than an hour away–probably 30 minutes if you can make it down 95S without traffic. Is that even possible?

Ultimate Coffee Date — Summer Vacation Edition

Welcome to the Ultimate Coffee Date Link Up, where we imagine that we are getting together for coffee (or tea, or your favorite relaxing beverage), and share what’s going on in our lives. It’s a chance to get to know each other better and support each other in all our endeavors. Since it’s no fun to have coffee alone, make sure you leave comments on other blogs in the link up, and don’t forget to visit my co-host Deborah at Confessions Of A Mother Runner.

Last week this MRTT awesomeness made it all the way across the country and found me in San Diego.

I had asked our group if anyone had suggestions for running routes in San Diego beyond the obvious–Balboa Park (which I did Sunday morning) and along the bay. One woman said that she was in the area visiting friends and family, and offered to take me hiking!

Stressed For Success

As I’m writing this, I’m decidedly not stressed, but this was one of those weeks when my stress level was running high. Luckily it was all work stress–which I’m pretty good at compartmentalizing–but I’m blaming it for the knots in my back that kept me from doing Conte’s bike ride.

If you saw last week’s Weekly Wrap post, you know last week was a busy week too. This week wasn’t quite as eventful, but it had its moments.  Continue reading

Summer weather arrived with a vengeance this week, and along with the change of seasons I am making changes to my workout schedule. Last week I ran my last race until September (did you see my Lawyers Have Heart recap?) and now I am turning my full attention to the hills I will face in Lancaster, Pennsylvania when I do the Farm to Fork Fondo at the end of July.

Summer Workout Tips

Today’s Friday Five theme is Summer Running Tips, so I’m sharing five ways I’m changing things up for summer and my summer workout tips. Visit the link up at Running On Happy and Fairytales and Fitness for more great ideas.
