What A Difference A Dog Makes

This week was all about figuring out Scooby and getting into a new routine. Luckily I was able to leave work early most days, so he didn’t have to spend too much time in his crate. We also had gorgeous weather–perfect for walking or lounging on the patio with a Nylabone. 🙂  

I made it to the Garden Center this weekend,
so those planters aren’t empty anymore!

Ode To A Rainy Day Runner

Is there a saying opposite to “The grass is always greener on the other side“? One that captures the gut reaction of being glad you’re not in another person’s situation even if they might not have it so bad? Driving home on a recent rainy day I felt sorry for a runner out in the elements, but then realized she might be enjoying herself more than I was. That was the genesis of my Ode To a Rainy Day Runner.

There’s A New Dog In Town!

We always knew we’d get another dog, and with my son home for the summer, we figured now is as good a time as ever. That said, when we went to the animal shelter yesterday I wasn’t expecting to come home with a new dog!

A friend who volunteers at the animal shelter has been on the lookout for a dog who might be a good fit for us, and she thought Scooby might fit the bill.

Lord Get Me Up This Hill

I felt strong on my second Conte’s hill ride of the season, but that doesn’t mean it was easy. Those hills are hard and require mental fortitude as well as physical strength. I find myself drawing on various mantras to keep me going, but as my mind wanders sometimes a mantra turns into a prayer!
