Hopping By On Easter

Happy Easter! If you celebrated Passover, I hope it was a joyous one. It’s a busy day, so I’m just hopping by with my weekly workout recap.

Happy Easter from my neighbor!

Hopping By On Easter

The Easter Bunny sure brought us warm weather this weekend, with highs in the upper 80s on Saturday. It was rough on my morning run, but perfect for wearing flip flops home from my mani/pedi. 💅 It’s hard to believe I needed a vest for last weekend’s run, but I guess the temperature is hopping all around too.

Sunday the flowers said spring, but it was in the upper 30s when I headed out! The sun did warm things up by the time I finished my 6+ mile run.

Love all the daffodils this time of year!

Monday I focused on strength with a 30 min full body class, and rounded out my workout time with a 15 min treadmill hike.

Tuesday temperatures hopped again and it was t-shirt weather at dark o’clock. I wondered why my legs were so tired until I remembered all the squat thrusts at the end of Jess’s strength class.

Enjoying our lilac azaleas in bloom.

Wednesday I ended up with a Hip Hop theme to my workouts. Some Peloton full body strength classes skimp on core, but Katie worked some in to every block.

Thursday I braved Camila’s tread class for a tempo-ish workout. After the warm-up we did 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 min at “challenging pace” with only 1 min recovery in between.

Bookmarked to take again as part of my Lawyers Have Heart training.

Friday I took advantage of a work-from-home day and paired some lighter strength classes with a 30 min climb ride.

Saturday I did RK’s new glutes class as part of my pre-run warm-up and it was a good one that uses a fitness band for all the moves—standing leg lifts, glute bridges, and clam shells.

I knew it was going to be warm on my run (upper 60s) but wasn’t ready for the humidity. I was literally dripping with sweat which hasn’t happened in an outdoor run in a while!

Scooby’s tongue says it all!

With Lawyer’s Have Heart about 6 weeks away I am torn between wanting more structured runs and also wanting to just head out the door with Scooby to enjoy spring weather. Saturday’s warm, humid weather gave me flashbacks to last year’s race and reminded me that acclimating to warmer weather is an important part of spring training.

A huge thank you to Deborah and Kim for hosting the Weekly Run Down link up.

Happy Easter! Happy Spring!

Nice week of workouts, Coco! That glutes workout would be on repeat for me–I need to continually work that part of my body. I completely understand what you’re saying about being torn between training for something and just heading out the door. I have some long distance hikes planned for May and June, so I do need to increase my distances. But it does feel good to just run.

It was warm this past week and since I had to walk later in the day a couple of times, I really felt it! It’s supposed to be cooler this week – I’d like it somewhere in between. 😉

    Happy Easter!

  3. It was crazy hot this weekend! I kept thinking this would have been cherry blossom weekend and wow it would have been so hot. Crazy! I have that Rebecca band class in my stack and looking forward to it.Good for traveling too. Happy Easter to you!

  4. Happy Easter! Beautiful flowers (lilacs?) in front of your house! The warmer weather got me on my run this week. Phew!!

  5. I loved that RK class with the bands! I typically loathe glute classes, but I bookmarked this one to keep it my regimen.

Omg a Pop Punk Run?! That sounds like my jam!!! I don’t have Peloton but if I did, i would love that!
Happy Easter to you. Love your neighbor’s decor!

Your peloton runs sound so fun.

Good luck with your 10k training.

E haven’t had that warm weather (except for a day here and there.)

Only 6 weeks away! Oh yes, I remember that it was a hot race day last year. Let’s hope it will be better this time, Coco!
I’m sure you will be well prepared with your fitness routine!

    Happy Easter and Passover!

I do love seeing Scooby out and about! We also had some warm weather, if not hot, but this week we are dreary, rainy, and WINDY! Not my favorite, but I am happy to have another reprieve from summer temps.

    Great strength workouts for you!
