New Strength Exercises I Learned From Peloton

It’s no secret that over the past few many months I’ve become a huge fan of the Peloton app. I don’t have a bike, and even though I’ve gotten hooked on the running workouts, my favorite classes–what sucked me in and got me to subscribe in the first place–are the strength classes. I love the diversity of the instructors, the variety of the classes, and I love that I’ve learned new strength exercises.

Obsessive October Runfessions

Trick-or-treating may not be happening until tomorrow–if it’s happening at all this year–but since it’s the last Friday of the month it’s time to make our way to the runfessional at Marcia’s Healthy Slice. There, we can cleanse our soles with our October runfessions and get ready for a fresh start in November.

Thanks to Lacey and Miranda for the Fairytales and Fitness Friday Five link up.

Deborah and I will be hosting the November Ultimate Coffee Date next weekend. We’ll open the (link-up) doors Friday November 6th, and keep the coffee brewing.

Moving Through A Fall Fog

I know weather can affect my mood, but sometimes the weather does a really good job of reflecting my mood. This week’s foggy mornings mirrored my Groundhog Day feelings. I often woke up unsure of what day it was, and then found myself wondering if it even mattered. I felt like I was moving through a fall fog even after the sun came out.

Volunteering During Voting Season

While “Election Day” is looming large on the calendar, with so many states permitting early voting for all voters, it feels like we are in the midst of a “voting season.” Before the Covid-19 pandemic, I was planning to volunteer as a poll worker or election day monitor, but I’m not comfortable with in-person volunteering now. When my law firm shared information about volunteering for the Election Protection hotline, I jumped at the chance.

2020 I Voted Sticker I availed myself of early in-person voting last week.

Election Protection is a national, nonpartisan coalition that works year-round to ensure that all voters have an equal opportunity to vote and have that vote count. If you have a question, you can browse the state-by-state information on their website, or call 866-Our-Vote and a friendly volunteer will do their best to help. 🙂

Hiking In Rocky Mountain National Park

No, this is not a throw-back post. Last week we braved planes, (airport) trains, and (rented) automobiles to visit our daughter in Colorado. Instead of our usual line-up of shopping and eating out, we mostly hung out at her place and went hiking. We even were lucky enough to score an entry ticket for hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park.
