Indoor Cycling At Revolve Ride Package Giveaway

This month not only marks my fourth year of blogging, it also marks my first anniversary of indoor cycling at RevolveDC. The great people at Revolve were willing to help me celebrate both anniversaries by letting me host a giveaway for a Revolve 5 ride package–the same package that got me hooked on RevolveDC when I won it from MCM Mama last year!

Smiling At Revolve

My smile doesn’t get anymore genuine than that!

I was hooked on indoor cycling at RevolveDC after my first class. I have never had so much fun working so hard, and I have never sweat so much in full-blast air conditioning!

As I kept going back to RevolveDC, I came up with a number of reasons why I love indoor cycling. You can read about them in this post here (also linked in the image below).

Spin Bike

In the fall, I tried to get in a Revolve ride at least once a week to help me get ready for the epic bike ride my husband and I were planning to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.

Celebrating Our 25th Anniversary

Doesn’t every one ride 67 miles for their anniversary lunch?

After I surprised myself with a PR at the Army Ten Miler, I realized that cycling really is good cross-training for my running.

This giveaway has ended, but if you live in the Northern Virginia area–including Washington, D.C. or the Maryland suburbs–you really should check out RevolveDC.

Favorite Race Recaps

I’m taking a few liberties with this week’s Friday Five theme hosted by Eat Pray Run DCMar on the Run and You Signed Up for What!–Favorite Race Memories. Once I’ve run a race and written a recap, I don’t really think back on my races unless I am planning a strategy for an upcoming race. Of course, I have some race memories that stand out, but what I am really excited about sharing are a few of my favorite race recaps from other running blogging friends. They inspired me, and I hope they will inspire you.

3 Ingredient Slow Cooker Mango Salsa Chicken Recipe

After a weekend of eating out, I was looking forward to a good, home-cooked meal last Sunday night, but my plans with family and friends left little time for grocery shopping or cooking.

Slow Cooker Mango Salsa Chicken Recipe
When I checked the fridge for dinner possibilities, I saw a package of boneless, skinless chicken breasts and a large jar of mango salsa my Mom had given me after she went overboard at Costco. I wondered if I could use them together in a slow cooker recipe, but a quick Google search didn’t turn up anything. I figured there wasn’t too much that could go wrong, and decided to make up my own crockpot mango salsa chicken recipe. Continue reading

Ragnar Training — My First Double Run

One of my strategies for Ragnar training is to add a few double runs to my schedule–running twice on the same day, in the morning and in the evening. While many people run at different times of the day depending on their schedule, the weather, or their mood, that is not me. I like to run first thing in the morning. I probably could count on two hands the number of times I’ve hit the treadmill in the afternoon, and I probably could count on one finger the number of times I’ve run outside in the afternoon (and I won’t say which finger!).

Ragnar

One concern I have about running doubles for my Ragnar training is the weather in the Washington, D.C. area this time of year. I really don’t do well in the heat and humidity, no matter what time of day it is. Continue reading
