Welcome to the March 2025 Ultimate Coffee Date! Whether March is treating you like a lion or a lamb, we want to hear about it at the linkup Deborah and I host the first Friday of every month.
You know how this works—grab the badge, link your post, and comment on the other blogs in the link-up.

Lion or Lamb?
I know March is supposed to come in like a lion and go out like a lamb, but if we were having coffee, I would tell you March muffed its role around here. March 1st started out like a lamb—I ran in shorts!—but then it realized its mistake and quickly shifted gears with a biting cold wind. March 2nd dawned with temperatures in the 20s again.
If we were having coffee, I would ask if I’m being too sensitive, or if even the Starbucks app thinks I visit too often.
I can’t help but read it as “you again?” 🧐
If we were having coffee, I would tell you my daughter is getting serious about relocating from Colorado to Florida so she can enjoy her new passion for free diving more easily. She went on a diving trip in February and had an amazing encounter with a manatee, captured with her GoPro.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you I had my first trip to Chicago of 2025–a quick one for meetings and dinner on Tuesday. The weather was both lamb and lion with relatively mild temperatures, but rain.
Did I brave this forecast? Check back Sunday to find out!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you the weather was full-on lion for my flight home, and it took three tries (approach—descent—climb—circle) before the pilot felt we could land safely at DCA. 😩 I’m not a fearful flier but that experience left me traumatized—and grateful the plane had plenty of fuel to wait out the wind gusts.
If we were having coffee, I’d invite you to check out my February book review post, where I shared my recent reads and talked about books I didn’t expect to enjoy but did.
Is March treating you like a lion or lamb so far?
That’s a fantastic shot of the manatee! Moving from Colorado to Florida must be quite the adventure, such a big change in climate and scenery.
Will your daughter need to find a new workplace, or is she able to work remotely?
She has her own math tutoring company and mostly teaches remotely, so that’s not a big concern.
I do enjoy Florida for a short period in the winter.
Lately our weather has been great and windy.
Very excited to finally meet you in DC.
I’ll be in nyc April 3-4.
I’ll head today to read your book reviews.
Wow! Freediving! Sounds like quite an exciting hobby. That manatee pic is beautiful. I’d say March has been like a lion here so far. Next week is supposed to be gorgeous and I am here for it!
I’m ready for this wind to die down!
Ooh! Where in Florida is your daughter thinking of moving to?
When I go into Starbucks the baristas all greet me enthusiastically by name and start making my tea even before I order it. Um… maybe I need to branch out a little???
March is all lamb here in Florida (as your daughter will find out if she moves here!)
She’s looking in the Gainesville area, I think.
Yikes about your return flight – so glad you got to gate safely!
That shot of the manatee is amazing!
March has been a lion here for the most part – still quite cold and the winds have been ridiculous. I need that lamb to show up soon 🙂
Seems like they are being extra cautious at DCA lately but better safe than sorry. While I do prefer DCA for convenience, I feel that Dulles is a little more safe in dicey weather. Our March weather is always up and down and crazy
What a great picture and fun encounter your daughter had with the manatee!
That’s a pretty scary story about your flight landing at Reagan National. I would have been pretty traumatized as well.
I would be traumatized with that airplane ordeal. Glad all went well. Hasn’t the weather been challenging??!!
The way I refuse to get on a plane right now. My husband is super annoyed, but I am driving my butt to Indianapolis in November unless something changes.
While I don’t ever recommend anyone move to Florida, especially now, i is amazing for free diving. Our boils and springs are absolutely incredible and I am sure she loves it.
She’s taken several trips there now and is getting more hooked each time!
Ahh, that’s such a beautiful photo! I haven’t made it out to Florida to dive yet but I’m hoping to go there at some point to hang out with the manatees!
