February may be the shortest month of the year, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have things to runfess. Join me over at Marcia’s Healthy Slice where we can cleanse our souls soles before we head into March.

Frigid February Runfessions
I runfess that while I have drawers full of winter running gear, I have been opting for my tread—or my Peloton bike—when temperatures dip into the 20s. I know once I get out there it’s never as bad as I expected (unless it’s windy!), but those first steps out the door are so hard in winter! 🥶
I skifess that even though I packed a variety of options, I ended up wearing the same clothes every day on our ski trip. It was warmer than I expected (upper 30s) and my 10 year old Athleta top was the perfect weight. Thankfully skiing doesn’t make me sweat very much. 😉

I runfess that I am wanting to fit in longer runs to prepare for the Lawyers Have Heart 10K in May, but not wanting to get up earlier to actually do it. I really don’t want to give up my daily strength workouts, but am going to have to adjust something to extend my tread time from 30 to 45 minutes.
Do you have “vintage” gear that’s still serving you well?
It was a rough weather month around here! I was also not too motivated to pull out the gear and suck it up. I packed a variety of clothes for our ski trip next week bc I was not sure how warm it would be. Hope you had fun
I have three thermal-lined tops I have on permanent rotation in the winter. They’re from Target, and still look brand new. I’ve probably had them 10 years, at least!
I have my favorites and ignore the rest. Maybe I should get rid of some of them.
I can barely squeeze in 2 miles during the work week. I keep saying that I need to increase it but it’s been cold, windy and the mojo has left.
Haha, nice job on the Athleta top!
I think 90% of my stuff is vintage. I runfess that I have a top from 2011 (!!) that I wear for my long runs. It’s a Zurich Marathon shirt and it’s the most comfortable shirt I’ve ever had. I’ve never found anything like it again.
I wear my hydration pack over it so nobody sees the year. 😂
