April Showers and Flowers

If we were having coffee, I might have to talk about the weather. We’ve had so much rain recently. I know April showers bring May flowers, but I am tired of having to walk Scooby in the rain—and then go through several towels to dry him off! At least he likes his rub downs and stands patiently.

If we were having coffee, I might tell you I decided to take a break from herbs and vegetables and grow flowers in my Aerogarden. It looked so nice when it started to bloom.

But then it quickly got out of hand, with vines growing every which way!

I think I was supposed to prune them, but there’s no warning light for that!

I’ve planted some of them in pots, but it’s too soon to tell if they will survive living in dirt—or me having to remember to water them. 🌺

If we were having coffee, I might tell you how my new Garmin annoyed me with reminders to set up the “period tracker” until I figured out how to delete that “feature” from my watch.

I’m blissfully past all that, but in this day and age would not trust any company with that information. 😣

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I have so many trips to Chicago this year for firm meetings and confernces. I had one quick trip in March, will be there for a few days in mid-April, have another quick trip in June, and might have to go for a few days each over three consecutive weeks in October! I love being in Chicago, but could do without the hassle of getting there. When will that teleportation technology be developed?

The flowers are so pretty! <3 I hope they thrive in the dirt! I have a bunch of rosemary that I'm propagating and I'm scared to switch them to dirt since they're doing so well without it, haha. :[

  2. Catrina says:

Three consecutive weeks in October! That will be a busy month, but think of all the Starbucks you can charge as travel expenses! 🙂
Will you be going home over the weekends?

  3. Darlene S. Cardillo says:

Lots of rain and even snow. Ugh.

I wish your work trips were in NYC. lol.

My succulents are out of control. Who has time for pruning?

    Those flowers are pretty.

  4. Michelle says:

So much rain here too! I’ve been wonering when I’ll be able to get into my garden to begin spring clean up. I like your flowers – nice to have some indoor blooms!

That’s a lot of traveling to Chicago! Any way to extend one of your stays so you don’t have to go back and forth so much?

  5. Marcia says:

The ground here is totally saturated from precip that’s come mostly as snow. It isn’t sticking for the most part but I’m beyond over the gloomy days. The indoor flowers are pretty!

  6. I’ve never had any luck with my Aerogarden! I know use it for a plant light on it’s own. I am so not a green thumb. I find Chicago and easy place to travel to bc there are so many flights from here daily and it’s short. Hope you have some fun travel this summer as well!

  7. It’s been raining for a few days here and I am over it. It will warm up next week and I am excited about it.

Do let me know when you’re in town. I would love to meet up with you! I don’t live too far from downtown and rarely get to go there.

  8. Jenny says:

I don’t know what kind of flowers those are, but I love them (I love purple!)
We had a wet-for us- winter. Winter is usually our dry season, but this year it was cooler and wetter. Soon we’ll be in our summer thunderstorm mode, but spring has been fairly dry so far.
Yes, you need to start teleporting- or at least don’t fly JetBlue. My son had a hassle getting back to Texas recently which I shared in my coffee date post! At least Chicago is a great city to visit.

  9. Spring hasn’t been TOO wet yet, but plenty windy! Your petunia look beautiful! They love their location 🙂

  10. Those flowers are gorgeous!

I never even thought of the insidiousness of sharing that particular data. I too am past that, but ugh.

I hope we can connect in Chicago soon!

  11. Jenn says:

Such beautiful flowers. And I’m a little jealous of your travel, even if it is work trips.

I won’t share any of my cycle data online. I don’t even input all my health data into my Garmin or Apple devices. No one needs access to that, especially now and even more especially when it relates to women. I am also just about past all that, but no thanks.
