Welcome to the August 2021 edition of the Ultimate Coffee Date. At last year’s July coffee date I celebrated my son’s very small (covid-compliant) backyard wedding ceremony. Today I hope you’ll let me tell you all about their covid-delayed wedding celebration. I’m so happy to be able to share the love and joy with you all at the Ultimate Coffee Date link up with Deborah.
The lovely venue, in Cavendish, Vermont
Let Me Tell You About The Wedding
If we were having coffee, I would tell you how thrilled I am for my son and his wife that all the work they put into planning, preparing, canceling, rescheduling, and planning and preparing all over again paid off. Everything was perfect, including the weather.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you all about the wedding. I would start with the moment we had all been waiting for:
Her Dad made the arch; the celebrant was a family friend.
I would tell you how happy my Mom was to be enjoying the day, seeing friends we’d met before, and meeting more of his wife’s family.
I would tell you how hard my daughter and her boyfriend worked planning and preparing vegan dishes for Friday night’s dinner, and the rave reviews they got —especially for her roasted red pepper soup.
This is such a great picture of both of them!
I would tell you her cousin made the wedding cake—including the white-chocolate-dipped strawberries.
There were bride and groom berries on the top!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you I had no intention of making a toast—and therefore nothing planned when my son called me out. I can’t remember half of what I said, but I spoke from my heart
That’s my husband not crying in the background. 😉
If we were having coffee, I would share my least favorite part of the wedding. I thought they had been talked out of it, but was releived that not even the dress was permanently harmed.
If we were having coffee, I would apologize for monopolizing the conversation with wedding talk. My heart is just so full of joy, I can’t help it!

What would you tell me over coffee?
Awesome, Coco!! I love everything about your son’s Covid-delayed wedding celebration.
The venue is fantastic – everything fits so perfectly, even the home-made arch looks as if it is meant to be there.
And how cool is that wedding plunge?!
It was really a great day.
Looks like it was a lovely celebration and well worth the wait! Congrats Coco! Thank you for sharing!
Congrats. That was lovely.
I’ve seen a few plunges on Lake George. Those crazy young people.
They really wanted to do it since they first chose the venue.
What a wonderful celebration! I’m so glad all of their planning paid off. Thanks so much for sharing!
it’s never a bad thing to share a moment of happiness! How wonderful that your mother was there. What a wonderful family celebration. And that cake! You have a talented family, obviously.
Mazel Tov!
I’m so glad that they had the perfect day after all of the pain of rescheduling and missing out. I’d love to hear more about it!!
Don’t tempt me! 😉
Awhhhh, not too much wedding sharing at all 😉 Looks so nice, and I love all the personal touches. Best wishes to everyone!!
I think the personal touches make it all that much more special.
No, don’t feel bad about monopolizing the convo! I loved hearing all about it. I’m so glad it all went off so beautifully. OMG that plunge!!
I was so worried. They went swimming Friday to see how deep it was, but I was still nerovous.
Huge congrats to you all! I am so glad that they finally got to have the in person wedding. Sounds like it went off just the way they imagined. I’ve never heard of the wedding plunge but looks fun!
You know I don’t mind you monopolizing the conversation because I did just that with baby talk! Huge congrats to your entire family! I’m glad it finally worked out for them to have the wedding they’d dreamed of and got delayed by a global pandemic.
Congratulations! It sounds like a beautiful wedding and so glad that they were able to have a bigger in-person wedding this year. I was nervous watching the wedding plunge but it actually looked like a ton of fun!
I was so nervous! And I had a local ER doctor on speed dial just in case ….
You can talk about your son’s wedding all you want! I loved hearing about it. It looks like everything was beautiful. And I’ll be coming over for the next vegan feast prepared by your daughter and her boyfriend!
Thank you so much for sharing all this with us! There is no such thing as too much wedding talk, especially since it made you so happy! I’d love e to even hear more!
There may be a part two when we get the proffesional photos. 😉
They are very good in the kitchen!
Aww, congrats!! <3 I'm glad everything worked out and yay for the weather cooperating as well! :] That cake looks amazing (+ I hope that water wasn't super cold)! :] So happy for your family!!
Thanks! It was worth the wait!
