Let Me Tell You About The Wedding Over Coffee

Welcome to the August 2021 edition of the Ultimate Coffee Date. At last year’s July coffee date I celebrated my son’s very small (covid-compliant) backyard wedding ceremony. Today I hope you’ll let me tell you all about their covid-delayed wedding celebration. I’m so happy to be able to share the love and joy with you all at the Ultimate Coffee Date link up with Deborah.

Let Me Tell You About The Wedding

If we were having coffee, I would tell you how thrilled I am for my son and his wife that all the work they put into planning, preparing, canceling, rescheduling, and planning and preparing all over again paid off. Everything was perfect, including the weather.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you all about the wedding. I would start with the moment we had all been waiting for:

WeddingHer Dad made the arch; the celebrant was a family friend.

I would tell you how happy my Mom was to be enjoying the day, seeing friends we’d met before, and meeting more of his wife’s family.

Grandmommy at the wedding

I would tell you how hard my daughter and her boyfriend worked planning and preparing vegan dishes for Friday night’s dinner, and the rave reviews they got —especially for her roasted red pepper soup.

Kristin and MaxThis is such a great picture of both of them!

I would tell you her cousin made the wedding cake—including the white-chocolate-dipped strawberries.

There were bride and groom berries on the top!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you I had no intention of making a toast—and therefore nothing planned when my son called me out. I can’t remember half of what I said, but I spoke from my heart

Mom’s Wedding Toast

That’s my husband not crying in the background. 😉

If we were having coffee, I would share my least favorite part of the wedding. I thought they had been talked out of it, but was releived that not even the dress was permanently harmed.

If we were having coffee, I would apologize for monopolizing the conversation with wedding talk. My heart is just so full of joy, I can’t help it!
