While mid-December is not my favorite time of year for a business trip, this is the second year in a row that work has taken me to the Big Apple around the holidays, and I have enjoyed seeing how festive it is at Christmastime in New York City.
I love how the Cartier building was decorated like a giant present.
The Harry Winston jewelry store down the street was not going to be out done!
Lots of people were taking pictures of the Saks Fifth Avenue windows.
I thought this one was interesting.
She opens her skirt to reveal the dancing gingerbread!
The Bergdorf Goodman windows had quite a different vibe.
Nothing says Happy Holidays! like giant grasshoppers!
I wish I’d thought to run by Rockefeller Center when it was still dark,
but the Christmas Tree still looked splendid–and smelled amazing!
While a business trip in mid-December might mean
having to write your Christmas cards on the train home, it’s not all bad!

Since I took most of these pictures on my runs, I’m linking up with the Weekly Wrap Link Up hosted by Holly and Tricia. I managed three runs, two strength workouts, one indoor cycling class, and a 2 mile walk to the train station in frigid temperatures (22F!) hauling my luggage.
Does it look like Christmastime in your city?
Can you believe I have another business trip this week?
I love looking a the holiday decorations in all of the store windows. Have a great week!
How fun! Yes, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas….sorry, I had to…in Chicago. The snow makes it seem all too real…
Well it is really cool you got to see the city 🙂
Hauling luggage in freezing temps counts as a work out for sure! Hope you have a wonderful holiday 🙂
I LOVE seeing the shop windows in NYC. They’re always amazing but grasshoppers?? Good that you got some workouts in while you’re traveling.
Amazing pics!!!!! I would have a hard time running with all of those decorations to ogle over…I’d be starting/stopping for the duration.
I would love to see NYC this time of year… except for the frigid temps. You are traveling so much, hope you have some downtime in the coming weeks. I have no more major travel for a while. Yeah !
we were there for last christmas and I was remarking to E last night how I WIIIIISH we were going back.
Cold temps and all
Both of my trips to NYC were in late November and I was able to enjoy many of the holiday decorations. Both times, the tree in Rockefeller plaza was already there — but covered with scaffolding. I would like to see it in all its glory. The designers for the store windows are clearly thinking outside the box. Or under the box, perhaps! Thanks for sharing these pictures and linking with us, Coco!
how fun! I think NY would be a neat place to visit this time of year, but I’d much rather go somewhere warm with a beach.
Lucky you to have a business trip in NYC.
I agree. The holidays in NYC are magical.
If you read my blog, you know how much I love NYC!!
Too bad, we weren’t there at the same time. I was there last Sunday.
I love NYC and have always wanted to visit when it’s decked out for Christmas. Just gorgeous! Thanks for sharing these pics!
What kind of business are you in?
When we lived in NYC I use to love to stroll down 5th Ave and check out all the store windows. The City does do Christmas right!
Sorry your schedule was so crazy! I hope you’re getting a little time off around the holidays.
Aweee I do miss Christmas in New York! All the lights and story windows are magical!
NYC is perfection at Christmas.
Our downtown does a huge lights display throughout the city. It’s pretty Christmasy but nothing like Manhattan.
I love NYC at Christmas time! I’ve never been to Macy’s Christmas village until I was an adult but had I gone as a child I would have totally believed it was santa’s real workshop. It’s just magical!
Enjoy your next trip.
I’ve never been to NYC so I’m living vicariously through you a little bit here. This scenery is absolutely beautiful! I’m currently living in Miami and the vibe is just different here. It looks like something out of a movie up there. Enjoy your week ahead! 🙂
Awesome pictures! I love how all the windows were decorated. I’m sorry you have another business trip though.
There is nothing like Christmas time in NYC! Love it! You always do so well with your workouts and travel! Stay safe- travel is looking a little brutal out there!
What beautiful pictures!!
In all the times I am in NY during the holidays can you believe that I have never been to 5th ave!!
I love the tree ….I am always so amazed that the big tree can have such a beautiful scent. My little tree in my house barely has a scent…lol!
Way to multi task on the train. I have never been consistent with Christmas cards. I finally got around to doing the 2017 calendar gifts for the family…they came out well.
Good job on your workouts and safe travels!
Oh Christmas in NYC is so pretty! I was actually in Queens over the weekend but didn’t make it into Manhattan. My neighborhood is pretty festive but I still want to drive around and see more holiday lights!
Christmas In The city is always beautiful, but too cold, mostly….
So jealous that you got to see NYC all decorated for Christmas. I haven’t been to NYC for five years now. I’d love to get back and see it all decorated!
I am so very glad you shared these Christmas scenes in the City with us! Wow these are just over the top awesome! I have yet to do our Christmas lights drive night but I hope to do that this week. Coco I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and I look forward to seeing what 2017 has in store!
Looks gorgeous! I love driving through the different towns when they are all lit up for the holidays 🙂
I enjoyed looking at all of your pictures of NYC! I’ve never been there! Hubby runs his family business and I teach at our local gym. Not much traveling for us except to the beach! Glad you had a great trip and Christmas!
