According to my Garmin data, I ran 68 miles in June, not including the 2+ miles I ran each Monday during my Orange Theory Fitness classes. The weather ranged from gloriously cool to oppressively humid, but all in all it was a good month for running. Since I don’t have any races on my calendar until September–I still haven’t committed to a July 4th race!–to the main purpose of my runs was to find items for the RunChatHunt scavenger hunt.
#RUNChAT
While I found more than five entries–I only missed the yard sale–I’ll share five that fit the theme of this holiday weekend for today’s Friday Five Link Up hosted by Courtney, Cynthia and Mar.
1. American Flag. What could symbolize July 4th more than my “flag” photo?
We had a relatively wet month,
but this was the only day I got caught in the rain.
2. Picnic Table. I have distinct childhood memories of picnicking with a bucket of fried chicken from KFC while waiting for the fireworks.
3. Basketball Hoop. With a long weekend, there’s extra time to play outside–do you have a basketball hoop?
We used to have one, but this one belongs to a neighbor!
4. Election sign. I find it interesting that the only election sign I could find was from last fall’s election.
5. Banks of a river. When I watch the fireworks from my office rooftop patio I’ll be looking up, but if I looked down I’d see this view of the banks of the Potomac River.

Did you participate in the #RunChatHunt?
I had every intentions in doing the Runchat hunt. I even got a few pics but never submitted them. Womp Womp!
Have a great weekend!
I have never done the hunt but I enjoy reading everyone’s posts! 🙂
We don’t have the runchathunt going on over here, but it seems like a lot of fun. I think it is a great way to add variety to a run.
Looking forward to catching up tomorrow.
You can always enter on Twitter – you just might not be able to win the prizes. Watch for the winter one and join in!
I somehow missed the runchat scavenger hunt- looks like a good one! See you tomorrow for coffee!
Oh how fun! I need to do this!
Again…the #RunChat thing escaped my memory. I typically don’t have my phone with me anyways to capture pics…but I certainly do see plenty of interesting things!
I’ve started running with my phone all the time so I can take a picture. 🙂
This looks like so much fun! Bummed I missed it. I could have snagged the yard sale pic for you. : )
I run too early in the day to see yard sales!
I have not tried to do the runchat photos yet but you got some good ones. Also rethinking the 4th of July race. Not into it so much this year. Look forward to coffee tomorrow!
All the races are so far away from me! I’d rather get my run in early and spend the rest of the day with my family.
Fried chicken must be THE picnic food because I remember eating chicken from our local grocery store when we went on picnics down by the river! Ah, great childhood memories!
Have a great weekend!
I thought the #runchat hunt looked like fun, but somehow forgot about it everytime I went out to run.
I did the runchat hunt a couple years ago and it was fun. I totally missed it this year! Love the view from your office 🙂
I never remember to do the hunt. I always want to, but #fail.
I can BARELY remember any of my 4th of July memories! THIS YEAR I am going to make some good memories though, I am pretty friggin’ excited about that 🙂 I am going to be with my love and we are going to have a blast doing WHO KNOWS WHAT!!
I’ve never heard of a #runchathunt before. But it looks like fun! 🙂
We love soccer and fireworks on/around July 4th.
I have not tried to do the runchat photos yet but you are def inspiring me! Happy 4th!
That view from the top of your office is beautiful!!!
