Loving Lately ~ November 2015

November is one of my favorite months of the year. The trees are still aglow in their fall colors, the weather is perfect for running, and we will celebrate my birthday, my daughter’s birthday, and see family over Thanksgiving. I’m participating in a gratitude practice on Instagram (follow me and join in!), but thought I’d share five little things I’m loving lately–and two I’m not!

Loving Lately
Loving: The new Garmin Connect App. A few weeks ago Garmin released a major update to the Garmin Connect App. I love the new summary screens and customization options. I think I also am drawn to the sleek look of the black background.

What do you think?

Not Loving: The new Weather Channel App. One of the first things I do when I wake up is check the Weather Channel app to see if I need a jacket and/or sweat pants to walk the dog, confirm what I’ve selected to wear for my morning run, and/or figure out the best time for a bike ride. Last week the Weather Channel app was updated, and I am not loving it. I think I just don’t like the font.

Is it just me?

Loving: Chobani multi-packs. I never was a fan of coconut, but I fell in love with the coconut flavored Chobani yogurts. I was thrilled when they started selling them in multi-packs, which makes it easier (and a bit cheaper) to stock up.

Chobani

I can grab two of these instead of
clearing the shelves of the single-serving cups.

Not loving: The new Chobani flips. I was excited to try the new fall Chobani flips flavors, but I won’t be buying them again. They don’t taste bad, but the sugar-coated add-ins are too sweet for me. I think they got it just right with the CocoLoco flavor, so nothing else compares!

Chobani Flips

Sorry, I’m not sorry, Pumpkin Harvest Crisp and Peanut Butter Pecan.

Loving: My new running tights. When I was still injured this summer, I justified buying new running tights by twisting the line from Field Of Dreams:

If I buy them, I will be able to run.

I lifted my spirits by departing from my usual black, and got some fun new patterns. One of my favorites is from Moms Run This Town. I also just signed up for the new Athleta credit card which I know will only feed my obsession, since the more I spend, the more they will tempt me to spend more with coupons and special offers.

Bright tights–and shoes–for a dreary day!

Loving: 2XU 24/7 Compression Socks. When BrightLifeGo reached out to me about their collection of compression socks, I thought twice before accepting their invitation to review one of their products. There already are so many brands of compression socks, what could this company offer? When I learned that BrightLifeGo is a local company (based in Washington, D.C.) that sells socks made by well-known brands, I kept researching. When I saw that they sell compression socks for everyday use, I was sold. I like to wear compression socks on long flights and have been considering them for long days at the office, and it’s not always possible to hide fun running socks under my business casual attire.

2XU

I selected the 2XU Twenty Four Seven (24/7) Compression Socks because the target consumer fit me to a “T”: This is the ideal sock for those who sit for long periods of time during travel or at work …. I’ve worn them several times now, and love that they are thin enough to wear with office-appropriate shoes and comfortable enough to keep on all day. BrightLifeGo offers great service and free shipping on U.S. orders, so if you want an easy place for one-stop compression sock shopping, check them out.

Loving: The Ultimate Coffee Date Link Up. Tomorrow is the first Saturday of the month, which means it’s time for the Ultimate Coffee Date Link up. I love how this link up gives us a chance to share what’s going on “behind the scenes” in our lives and get to know each other better. The link up is open to all blogging niches–just write a “coffee date” style post and join in!

Loving this awesome weather and hoping it stays nice through Sunday. Look forward to seeing you at the National Race to End Women’s Cancer Sunday, Coco! Look for me by the stage and I’ll introduce you to the rest of Team BBG Fitness!

  3. Marcia says:

I think the run of gorgeous weather here came to an end last night. Winds are howling and I doubt there’s a single leaf still attached to any tree. Oh well. Wow the coffee date snuck up on me. Thanks for the reminder!

  4. Karen says:

It took me a minute to get used to the Garmin update, but now I love it 🙂 I couldn’t live with out my Connect .

  8. Patty says:

Choboni for the win! I could eat that everyday. Delish.

  10. I’d love a pair of bright tights for winter! Yours look cool!

  11. I have to share that I’m not loving Chobani sending me an email wanting me to create recipes and offering to hook me up with another blogger doing the same thing! It makes me not want to eat their yogurt. Seriously.

    • Coco says:

Yeah, I know they don’t have good relationships with bloggers any more. Gone are the days when they would send cases to random no-name bloggers on wordpress.com just because they asked. But it’s still my favorite yogurt to eat. 😉

  12. Ohhh, I haven’t updated my Garmin app, I like the look of that! I’m also with you on the Weather channel app, I hate it. Super cute tights, I love the argyle. And wait, Athleta has a credit card now? I can’t even. I would get in so much trouble!

  13. Lindsey says:

I love the new Garmin update! If you would like another Garmin friend, add me: lindseyyjoee. I could always use the extra motivation 🙂

  14. Darlene says:

I thought it was just me. Hate the new weather app.
