On July 4th I like to celebrate Independence Day with a healthy Declaration of Independence. My first healthy Declaration of Independence focused on physical things, but this year I’ve struggled more against emotional chains holding me back.
expectations … and doing what I can when I can.
comparisons … and remembering that I have to run my own race.
judgment … and understanding that I am doing the best I can.
criticism … and believing that I am good enough.
obligations … and saying “no” without needing an excuse.
What will you declare your independence from today?
Stop by the Ultimate Coffee Date Link Up this weekend and let me know!
I love this post! What a great take on Independence Day. And a good time to check in with all that, halfway into 2015.
I love your healthy declarations! I could use a little more focus on expectations so I do not always set myself up for disappointment. Have a great weekend
What a creative post! I’m not quite sure what I would declare. I’ll have to think on this one!
I like your declarations – they’re all ones I could declare for myself!
I love these declarations! Way to go 🙂
I love these! I think everyone could benefit from declaring independence from all five of those!
Love this so much. I need to listen to the criticism one and it’s not other critics, it’s ME! I have ridiculous expectations of others at times, and I have even MORE ridiculous expectation of myself. I gotta cut that out.
It’s hard to balance not expecting too much from others with becoming too jaded!
This is perfect – I love it! I hope you are having an awesome weekend 🙂
Great list! I’m not quite sure what I need to declare independence from. The feeling of not being good enough?
That would be a good one! Have you seen the “I Am Enough” posts?
