This is the hat I bought for my Dad when my son was competing
in a wrestling tournament at his alma mater.
This is the hat I bought for my Dad that February,
and was saving as the perfect Father’s Day gift.
This is the hat I didn’t know what to do with
after my Dad suddenly passed away that March.
This is the hat I think about
when Carla reminds us that every day is a special occasion.
This is the hat that holds the “I love you”s
I wish I still could say.
This is the hat that says “I miss you Dad!”
every single day.
I teared up.
oh that brought a little tear to my eye. Really sweet way to remember your dad.
<3 Thinking of you <3
What a sweet post. My Dad passed away very suddenly when I was 25. My kids #2 & #3 never knew him. He would have been crazy about them and that makes me sad. Life is short. So, you can’t let anything go unsaid.
I get the same exact feeling/thoughts, but the item is instead my dads airplane collection that he had. I have a couple airplanes that were a part of the collection, and I get a feeling of inspiration every time I see them. Loved this post.
OH, what a sweet post. And, such a great reminder that we should cherish every day with those we love and take every advantage to let them know how much we love them.
<3 I'm so sorry for your loss. :[
So sad, sorry for your loss. Nice to have something to remember him by.
Ohhhh, Courteney….so teary, what a great homage to your dad!
Wear that hat!
Chills. You’re so right… every day is a special occasion. I’m watching two loved ones right now dealing with the end days of their parents’ lives and it’s even more of a reminder.
There’s something about the sisterhood of women who no longer have their Dads’ physical presence in their lives. Hugs…
A wonderful rememberence and good advice that we never know! Say I love you everyday!!
