Happy day after Christmas! I hope you had a good day, whether you celebrated Christmas, just enjoyed a day off, or had to work so the rest of us could buy batteries, see a movie, get out of the house for dinner, or seek emergency medical care.
My day started off well when Santa brought me perfect running weather for Christmas (5oF!) and I took my new headlamp out for a test run. After 9 glorious miles I treated myself to a breakfast of cranberry upside down coffee cake and ham, followed shortly thereafter by a generous portion of peppermint bark–’tis the season!
I don’t like getting too much “stuff” for Christmas, but I do hope for a few fitmas gifts to keep me motivated for running and cycling in the new year.
My husband came through with the Race Dots I wanted, plus several new cycling outfits (including padded undies!), headbands, and socks.
My favorite gift from my son was a piece of pottery he made in his ceramics course.
These are the pieces he gave to me and my Mom. Aren’t they gorgeous?!

After we opened all the presents and ate our fill of Christmas chocolates, we decided to watch The Interview. We couldn’t get it to play through our new Amazon Fire TV, but I was able to hook my laptop up to our TV so we could stream it from YouTube that way. I’m not sure it was worth an international crisis, but it wasn’t the worst way to spend $5.99 to entertain the whole family for a few hours.
Did you get any good fitmas gifts?
What did you do after all the presents were opened?
That pottery piece is gorgeous!!! Love the race dots too- I’ve been dying to try them out!
We watched The Interview too – definitely not worth the international crisis, but surely entertaining. I really like the stream at home new movie option. Can’t wait to see the numbers.
Love the pottery!!!
It’s so sweet that your husband made you that!! I love that. My husband doesn’t usually buy me fitness stuff bc I do such a great job of that myself-LOL. I think I am going to get the fitbit when I get home. I could use a little new year encouragement to stay moving. Sounds like you had a great Christmas!
Sounds like a really nice holiday!
We watched MasterChef after opening presents. It was my first time seeing it and I might now be addicted. 😀
Those shows are addictive!
I got some race dots too!!! I can’t wait to try them out! We have had some great weather so the long Christmas weekend has been nice! We have 4 kids so it works in shifts and Christmas takes all day 🙂 after the last one left we turned off all the lights, shut the garage door and collapsed on the couch! Pooped! It was a great day!
Beautiful pieces of pottery! I hope to watch the Interview this weekend as well.
Love the pottery and fitmas gifts are always nice! That said, I got nothing. We have huge travel plans next year so that is gift enough. Plus I went a little wild on pre-Christmas deals at Athleta and Asics so it’s all good!
My sister bought me an awesome running shoe ornament! And like Marcia, I shopped for myself at Asics. It’s all good…
I got a gift card for new running music.
