Last week I had an 11 am doctor’s appointment that took much less time than I expected. (How often does that happen?!). Since it was a nice day and I had cleared my work calendar, I decided to get lunch on my way back to the office. I was close to Foggy Bottom, and remembered hearing good things about DC Dosa in the Whole Foods.
As described on the DC Dosa website, “a dosa is a lentil and rice crepe/pancake, typically with a vegetable filling and an accompaniment of chutney.” I chose the “Four Lentil Dosa” for my pancake, the cauliflower and pea filling, and the cilantro sesame chutney, then I watched them prepare my dosa. It was delicious, and so filling I saved some for breakfast the next day.

Have you had dosas?
Do you ever crave spicy, savory foods for breakfast?
Haha, well I’m right by there everyday 😉 Never been though!
That sounds delicious! I must have a try next time I am in the area. Big plus for all the seasonal veggies. Thank you for sharing Coco!
Wow that sounds good and something I would love!
We should meet for lunch sometime!
Wow, that sounds yummy, I’ve never heard of them before!
Omg I have never had one but I want one!!
That sounds delicious, wish they’d branch out with Dallas Dosa!
I’ve never heard of a dosa – do they have different filling options (like meat)?
Hah, they do have choices but I think they all are vegetarian.
Lots of the Greek places around here have Dosa’s so I have tried them before. Love that they are gluten free.
Yes! And they taste terrific!
