Wow! Only two more weeks until Ragnar! Last week I had a solid week of Ragnar training, with one session at the track, one afternoon run, and one long run, but I didn’t squeeze in any double runs.
Here’s a recap of my workouts:
Monday: Strength Training (45 min)
Tuesday: 5.25 mile run at dark-o’clock
(I’ll tell you more about my Verve vest later this week!)
Wednesday: 45 min “Body Ride” class at RevolveDC
Thursday: I met some MRTT women at the track and did a pyramid workout:
400-800-1200-1600-800-400, with 400 recovery in between. My 400M split times ranged from 7:02 (my last 400!) to 7:49 (one of my 1200 laps and one of my 1600 laps). It was was really humid (one of the few really humid days we’ve had this summer!) and I know that was impacting me, but I also know that I’m still not that good at pacing myself at the track.
Friday: Strength Training (45 min) in the morning;
4.25 mile run in the afternoon.
Saturday: Long run on the Capital Crescent Trail
Sunday: Strength Training (45 min); 22 mile bike ride;
2 miles on the treadmill to test out my new running shoes.
(My new strength training exercises and new shoes are a result of the running assessment I had last week–I’ll share more about that later this week!)
So, two more weeks, which means one more week of Ragnar training and then an easy week!
Do you have an upcoming event you are training for?
Did you squeeze out the last bit of “summer” this weekend?
That is a serious track workout! It looks like you are definitely ready for your Ragnar!
Thanks! It was tough for sure!
Two more week till Reach the Beach for me! I love your lighted vest. You’ll definitely be seen!
you seem ready for sure! Can’t believe it’s almost here. I assume Erika talked to you about joining in our posts this month!
Thanks! I’ hope to join you!
I’m training for one more Sprint Tri (2 weeks to go!) before I finally give up on summer. Added it at the last minute to try and extend the season. Picnic in the park today to try and squeeze in the end of summer.
Courtenay, you are going to do great. How exciting, and good luck. I have a Ragnar Napa Valley {here in my home town} on my bucket list….maybe next year 🙂
Thanks so much! Ragnar Napa sounds pretty nice ….
That vest is so cool!!!
Looks like your Ragnar training has been going really well!
I’ve been training for an ultra – 10 days till race day!
Oh, sounds like the same date as Ragnar? Good luck!
Great training so far. I love how you are switching it up.
It still feels like summer here so no squeezing out that last bit. Though I am ready for fall and cool temperatures. I am so sick on the 90s.
Really terrific submit.. game I just now found your web site as well as desired to declare that I have really appreciated surfing around your website articles. In any event I shall be registering to your own rss and i am wishing you are writing yet again rapidly!
