We are lucky to have several Trader Joe’s in Northern Virginia, but they are all just far enough away from my house that it is too inconvenient to go every weekend. I have a list of items that I like to stock up on whenever I go (you can see some of them here) and I am developing a repertoire of quick and easy dinners from Trader Joe’s that is making me get there more often.
My favorite Trader Joe’s dinner centers around their vegetable gyoza.
I use a package of the vegetable gyoza and a package of these stir-fry vegetables. I cook the gyoza according to the package directions using 2-3 tsp of sesame oil, then add the frozen veggies and some water and “steam” in the saucepan until the veggies are ready. I add a mixture of low-sodium soy sauce and Trader Joe’s stiry-fry sauce for flavor.
Another favorite is something I call fajita chicken.
I buy a package of fresh chicken breast, dice the chicken, toss with 1-2 Tbsp of taco seasoning, and cook in about 1 Tbsp of canola oil. After the chicken is cooked through, I add a bag of Trader Joe’s frozen fajita-style vegetables and continue cooking until the vegetables are hot. It goes quite well in tortillas or over a bed of rice.
I shared a recipe for a Mediterranean Kale and Goat Cheese Pizza that I made with ingredients I bought at Trader Joe’s (including their whole wheat pizza dough), but these pizzas made on Trader Joe’s frozen naan is almost just as good.
I’m the one that likes Kalamata olives. 😉
My husband’s favorite quick and easy Trader Joe’s dinners are even quicker and easier.
As long as my freezer is well-stocked with Trader Joe’s frozen Indian food entrees and naan, I don’t have to feel guilty about not being home to cook dinner.
What are your favorite quick and easy dinners?
Do you have any suggestions for my Trader Joe’s shopping list?
These are great ideas! I love Trader Joes but I usually stick to my same old items when I’m there. It’s always fun to see how other people throw together meals from all their products!
I love those Trader Joe’s Indian entrees. No one else in my house likes Indian food, so that’s usually my only option.
We like their fried rice, too. I just bought Naan from Sprouts – looks about the same – yummy!
Oh, gosh. Our whole family likes Indian food!
We just had a TJs open near us finally!
You will have so much fun trying their products!
All of this looks delicious! And now I’m hungry. ;p
We don’t have a Trader Joe’s here – wish we did because the few I’ve been to look awesome!!
All of your quick and easy choices look tasty!
Oh I like these ideas! TJ’s vegetable gyoza is a staple in my freezer – I’ll have to try it with the stir-fry veggies!
The veggies turns them into a full meal. 😉
I LOVE Trader Joe’s and get lots of my “fast” food there.
I love Trader Joe’s and they have so many good quick and healthy options!
