Psalm 145
Many of my friends have been writing “gratitude” posts on Facebook, Twitter or their blogs throughout the month of November. While I have not been that public with my thankfulness, I have been focusing more on giving thanks as one of my November goals.
When we read Psalm 145 in church a few weeks ago, it made me realize that the practice of being grateful every day is not a new one. Many of the Psalms of David reflect this tradition, including Psalm 145, which is a good Psalm for Thanksgiving.
As Thanksgiving day approaches, don’t get too caught up in the preparations (travelling, grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, family squabbling, etc.) to take time to be grateful for your family and friends and the food and fellowship you will be sharing.
Are you ready  for Thanksgiving?
Beautiful. And I love that you said the “practice” of gratitude- it does take some discipline and the intention to be thankful some days!
Thank you for the reminder!! I woke up from a very poor night of sleep with my mind racing because of all the things that I have to do in the next 3 days – but the main thing is just to enjoy my family that is coming up and not worry if there is a tiny bit of dust (right?!).
Yes! And I bet they won’t even notice! Especially if they are stuffed to the eyeballs with dinner! 😉
