Fit Social Mount Sanitas Hike
I can’t lie. One of the reasons that I was excited to go to the FitSocial conference last week was because it was held in Boulder and Denver. Although the conference sessions didn’t start until Friday, they offered a hike in Boulder on Thursday. I’ve been to Boulder a few times in the past few years, but I’ve never hiked there, so I jumped at the chance to get closer to the gorgeous mountains.
We met in the hotel lobby and took a shuttle bus for a short ride to the Mount Sanitas trail head, which is tucked in a cute residential neighborhood.

The route was steep right from the start, and quickly changed from a dirt path to a rocky climb. Between that and the altitude, we made frequent stops to take pictures. 😉

It was a tough hike, but the scenery was more than worth it.
According to my Garmin, we climbed over 1,300 feet!
(The flatter stretch at the end shows where we walked down the Pearl Street Mall area, as we made out way back to the hotel.)
It was a great way to meet and get to know some of the bloggers and fitness professionals attending FitSocial. About 15 of us went on the hike, and I was able to talk with most of them as we walked, climbed, and trudged along!

Since I wasn’t the only blogger on the hike, this isn’t the only post about it–check out what others have to say:
