Housekeeping (Bloglovin and ShareASale Affiliate Links)

I was out of town more than usual in June and let my housekeeping take a back seat. I finally had to face the dust bunnies and dirty floors over the long holiday weekend. While it wasn’t my favorite part of the weekend, it is nice to have a clean house–at least for a few days! Doing chores around the house made me realize that it’s also a good time to do some housekeeping here on my blog.

First, Google Reader is gone. You probably know this if you used Google Reader, but if you were on vacation last week or just too busy to do much blog reading, you may not have realized that, yes, Google really did pull the plug on Google Reader. I started using Bloglovin as a replacement a few months ago, and really like it. It grabbed my blogs from Google Reader and let me sort them into different lists. It’s easy to add new blogs, either by searching for blogs signed up with bloglovin or entering a blog’s url directly into the Bloglovin. You can follow Running with Perseverance on bloglovin by clicking this link here:

Facebook?

Twitter?

Instagram?

When I was at Fitbloggin I learned about ShareASale, a performance marketing network that lets me select merchants/products to promote through affiliate links. I don’t really care about “monetizing” my blog, but I thought I would give it a try for a few months to see if it can help cover some of my blogging expenses.

I am starting with Reebok, mostly because I fell in love with the top they gave us at Fitblogging.

I also signed up with ProCompression because I do wear compression socks for racing, recovery and long plane rides, and I love my hot pink ProCompression socks .

You can get these and other cool (hot?) colors here:

If you are a blogger interesting in using a program where you get to choose your ads, you can learn more about ShareASale here:

There are other great fitness companies with ShareASale affiliate programs, so I may rotate links every month or so. Or, I may decide that the whole process is not worth it!

Did you catch up on housework this weekend or were you too busy having fun?

I'm curious how it works out. I see offers for affiliate links and know personally that I rarely remember to click them and usually just buy stuff on my own. Keep us posted.

I'll take some real housework too – is there an affiliate link for that?

I don't like all the advertising I am seeing on some blogs these days… Sometimes it is too distracting and annoying.

I was really confused by Sale a Share and need to check back into it. I signed up cause I didn't want to miss out but…need to learn what it is I'm doing with it!

  5. I didn't do a bit of housework this weekend – we just enjoyed a great long weekend!!!
I've never hear of the ShareASale link but I've never looked into sponsors either. Free stuff on occasion would be nice though. Plus, I figured that you had to have a blog that got way more views than I do to be considered.
