I had so much fun at Fitbloggin it’s hard to know where to start, but the workout that generated both the most sweat and the most smiles was the JumpSport® Fitness Trampoline Bounce Camp session.
When I heard that Jeff McMullen would be leading the session again, I knew were in for a good time. Like last year, we paired up and did intervals:
- 45 seconds of a floor exercise while your partner did a trampoline exercise
- 15 seconds to switch with your partner
- 45 seconds of a trampoline exercise while your partner did the floor exercise
- 15 seconds to switch with your partner
(I even found my partner from last year–how cool was that!)
The trampoline exercises included cardio moves like bouncing, snow board jumps, and jump squats, and also core moves like candle sticks, walking planks, and seated rotational twists.
The floor exercises included boot camp style moves like gorilla walks, prisoner squats and burpees, and other crazy moves that defy description. (Here’s where the “Bad Kitty” comes in, Karen!)
For this interval, the “floor exercise” was to cheer your partner on
while s/he sprinted on the trampoline as fast as s/he could.
The workout was so intense that the jumping jacks intervals felt like “recovery” intervals, but it was so much fun! We all were smiling and laughing as the sweat poured off every conceivable body part.
Even the Laughing Cow mascot had to get in on the fun!
Thanks to Alan, you can see you much fun we had during the sprint intervals.
You can catch one of my sprint intervals atabout 2:23. Make sure you watch through to the end for Jeff’s booty slap interval. 🙂
You may recall that earlier this year I randomly won a Fitness Trampoline from JumpSport® on Twitter, so I have a Fitness Trampoline at home. While I don’t push myself as hard as Jeff did, I do always smile when I do a warm up, short cardio intervals, or the plyometric exercises of my Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD on my trampoline.
Have you used a fitness trampoline?
Did you play on a trampoline as a kid? Did you have “seat drop wars”?
I still love playing on the trampoline today! I haven't been around one in a while though…nor have I ever used one to exercise! Fun 🙂
that looks SO FUN!! st. louis has this huge gym full of trampolines… i imagine that it would be a great workout though really itz intended for play 🙂 that's the best kind of workout!
We had a fitness trampoline when I was kid. I think because my dad had been in gymnastics when he was in high school they saw the value of having one. It provided endless hours of fun. We also got a large trampoline for outside and we did flips and belly flops all the time. It was a blast!
It was great meeting you!!!
I have a mini trampoline at home – I should use it more – that workout sound like all kinds of fun!!!
I love the idea of these fitness trampolines, I can really see the benefit in them. I think they are ideal for using at home too, so I think your article has just persuaded me to go out and buy one for the home. I haven't looked into doing any classes with this yet, I will have to check if there any being held in our local area.
This looks intense, totally fun though! Do you know when the conference is being held next year? I’d love to take a look 🙂 Great post!
This year Fitbloggin’ is in Savannah in a few weeks!
That looks so fun, i still play on the trampoline:))
