I had my podiatrist appointment yesterday. As I feared, the toenail that I killed last year was growing back incorrectly (becoming ingrown). Three shots of anesthesia and a minor procedure later I am back to the drill of epsom salt soaks, antibiotic cream and no running for a few days at least probably a week. 🙁
The good news is that by the time my toe is ready for action, my new ITB pain (on the outside of my left knee) will be all better, right?
Right?
RIGHT, right. Welcome back!
🙁 Hope it heals soon! My huge scratch that I got after falling while running last week is finally growing a thicker scab! 🙁
Injuries suck. They have such a power over us. A silly injury can ruin even the best outlooks. 🙁 Feel better!
Oh dear….. is kicking your stacks at work off the todo list? Seriously, I hope you heal soon!
I've gone through two completely different ITB injuries — one was fine after a couple of weeks of not running and the second from last fall that put me at my lowest point ever. It's not something to mess with. When you get back to running, if you're having pain, you'll have to look at your mechanics. I think it's possible that you may have overcompensated with your toe without even realizing it.
A couple of weeks of not running?? Ack!
