Running Gear Runfessions

There are still a few days left in March, but it’s time to gather at Marcia’s runfessional. This month I’m sharing some running gear runfessions, so it really is my soles that need cleansing!

Contemplating A Spring Race

I’m still on the waiting list for a covid-19 vaccine, but am hopeful now that several family members have been vaccinated. As much as I’ve gotten used to staying safer at home, I am looking forward to being able to do more, and even contemplating a spring race.

Ten Years

Ten years. Last week Facebook showed me a 10 year old memory of getting our son his first car. Instead of remembering that happy day, it made me realize I soon would be marking ten years since I lost my Dad.

My Dad the high school lacrosse fan.

Ten Years

So much has happened in the past 10 years. The grandchildren he loved so much have graduated high school and college, and settled into independent lives.

Enjoying Grandaddy’s garden.

After 10 years, I can’t say I miss him any less, but at least the memories aren’t painful anymore. Just this year, my daughter grew potatoes in her vegetable plot, and remembered digging up potatoes in Granddaddy’s garden. Just last month, my husband shared home repair tips with my son that he learned from Dad.

My home is filled with playful things he made. They make me smile even when my heart aches from missing him.

Celebrating My Peloversary

This week marked one year since the World Health Organization declared the COVID-19 outbreak was a global pandemic. One year later, I’m still working at home and generally trying to stay safer at home. Peloton is a huge reason I’ve been able to cope with all this time at home–the instructors, the workouts, the community I’ve found in supportive Facebook Groups– all make me happy to be celebrating my Peloversary.

Returning To The Scene Of The Crime

When I found out I had to go into my office this week, I had to decide if I was ready to return to the scene of the crime–the running route where I fell and fractured my rib and left hand seven weeks ago. I hesitated, but had to do it.
