Getting A Second Opinion

My mission this week was getting a second opinion about my Achilles. That involved finding a doctor who might or might not see things differently, making an appointment, and getting a copy of my x-rays from the orthopedist. All that time spent on Google and making phone calls was worth it, because I got a very different second opinion.

Mamma Called The Doctor And The Doctor Said

Well, he didn’t say “No more monkeys jumping on the bed!” or even “No more running!” but I did have to fight off tears as I processed what the doctor said. If you need some cheering up like I did, make sure you check out the joyous photos from my son’s wedding that I shared over coffee.

Wrapping Up July

I’m wrapping up July in a bit of a funk. Between the slow progress of my Achilles and the fast-spreading delta variant of coronavirus-19, I’m having a hard time being optimistic for my November races. For now I’m taking things one day at time and trying hard to be patient.

Why I Broke Up With Cyclebar (It’s Not What You Think)

Over the past few months I’ve been getting the itch to return to Cyclebar. I’m enjoying Peloton rides on my Schwinn IC4, but I know I work harder in studio and I’ve missed my favorite instructors.
