Back in high school, a summer reading list was a chore–something to put off as long as possible and tackle in the last days of August or in the nights before the dreaded Summer Reading Test that always got my English grade off to a bad start. Exploring Different Ways To Pray

Last Sunday was Pentecost, the day we celebrate when the Holy Spirit came down from heaven and empowered the Apostles to follow in Jesus’ footsteps. (You can read the Pentecost story in Acts: 2.) Pentecost often is called the “birthday of the church,” because it marks the beginning of the Apostles’ ministry in the world.
