Stronger Than Yesterday

It was Britney Week at Peloton! 🩷 I put in the Work Bitch to earn a gold badge, and I’m definitely feeling Stronger. šŸ˜‰

Stronger Than Yesterday

After a week of travel where it was easier to run than figure out a strength workout in the hotel gym, I was ready to get back to my weights.

Sunday I got up early enough to do a 45 min strength workout with Jess Sims. The way she programs her 45 min classes makes the time fly. This one had a 5 min w/u, 4 x 3 circuit, two 4 min AMRAPs, and a 6 min EMOM.

Monday was the first day of Britney Week, and I started with two new Britney classes—a hike with Jon I took while walking Scooby and a core workout with Joslyn. After that I took Cody’s 🌈 Pride RidešŸŒˆā€”I’m sure there was a Britney song in there somewhere.

Tuesday I only took one Britney class—Matty’s new 10 min full body stretch. I think taking a 10 min stretch instead of a 5 min stretch helps me cool down more completely before I have to hop in the shower and get ready for work. 🄵

That’s a lot of badges for one class!

Wednesday I did two of Cody’s classes from the 2020 Britney Spears week—an arms + light weights class and a warm-up ride. They aired in July 2020, and took me back to those days when the pandemic was real with no end in sight.

Thursday I mixed things up with RK’s tread bootcamp class from 2020. It had about 15 min of running, so I stacked it with a 20 min tread class to get in 4.2 miles of running.

Doesn’t she look so young?

Friday I took RK’s new upper body strength class. It was a great workout, but RK was in full former-dancer mode with over the top ā€œdance breakā€ moves and talked a lot about herself—reminiscing about the different Britney songs she used for various try-outs—so I’m not sure I’ll take it again—and if I do I might say Oops!šŸ˜…

Saturday I stacked three classes to reach gold badge level. I took Matty’s 10 min HIIT cardio class as a warm-up (choosing the low-impact options) and paired Olivia’s new outdoor Walk + Run with Matty’s 30 min Walk from 2020 for my run with Scooby.

Despite the warmth, I did feel really strong on this run!

It was misty which made it simultaneously humid but almost cool.

A huge thank you to DeborahĀ andĀ Kim for hosting the Weekly Run Down link up.

It’s a holiday week in the U.S., Ā but Monday I’ll be sharing my recent book reviews Ā šŸ“– and šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øFriday šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø Deborah and I will be hosting the ultimate coffee date ā˜•ļø —please stop by!

What a fun and fierce week, Coco! Ha, Work Bitch energy all the way! I love how you mixed in so many different formats of Britney classes.
You are right, that’s a lot of badges for one class!
Also, misty-but-humid-but-almost-cool sounds like summer running vibes. šŸ˜…

  2. I took a few of the Britney classes myself this week. I agree the 10 min stretch classes fab. Sometimes I take them in the late afternoon or evening and always glad I did.

Would you believe I started singing along to your title before I saw it was Britney week? Love her! And her music is so motivating! perfect for fitness!

How is Scooby handling the heat? It’s got to be so hard for our puppies.

  5. Wendy says:

You were all in on those Britney classes, lol. Your post made me wonder what Britney is up to these days! We don’t hear much about her lately.

    Stay cool, Coco!

  6. Melissa says:

Britney week sounds like so so much fun! I recently read her book/memoir and it not only brought me bac k to the Britney era but also was mindblown over everything that has happened to her. Hope you’re staying cool!

A Brittney week sounds fun… I like her music for running…

Congrats on your gold badge and a good run…

  8. Brittney kept you busy! I’m not much of a Brittney fan, and it looked like so many classes were ā€œexclusive,ā€ so I wasn’t able to take advantage…so no Brittney for me. All those badges are impressive, especially from one class!

    • Coco says:

I wouldn’t say I was a fan either, but I like enough of her songs that I didn’t mind taking the classes. Also at least the older and new classes had different playlists.

  9. Ah yes, good old pandemic days!! Sounds like a fun week of classes. I do love me some Britney!

  10. Jessie says:

Oh Britney, such a big part of my adolescence! What a fun series to do at Peloton. Looks like a great week for you Coco! Happy 4th!

  11. Debbie says:

It sounds like you thoroughly enjoyed your week of workouts. It’s great that you felt so strong on your Saturday run with Scooby!
