Marching Out Like A Lamb

It took until the end of the last week of the month, but March is definitely going out like a lamb this year. After a dip into the 30s Wednesday night we saw the 80’s yesterday. The trees in my neighborhood seemed to pop overnight. They are so beautiful!

Dogwoods in bloom!

Marching Out Like A Lamb

My weekday morning walks are still at dark o’clock so I had to wait for the weekend to take pictures of the trees in my neighborhood.

Scooby was confused by a mid-run stop.

In a few weeks, this tree will drop its blossoms into a thick pink carpet.

I love this tree and its daffodils.

Gardening does not bring me joy, but pretty gardens do. 🌸 I’m so grateful for my neighbors who maintain pretty yards.

Weekly Wrap

It was frustrating to have gorgeous afternoon weather while I was stuck at my desk. Hopefully in a few more weeks it will be light enough early enough for a pre-work run. In them meantime, I was relegated to my basement gym.

Sunday: Core + FB Strength + 30 min Peloton Ride + 30 min Peloton Walk
I did a rare treadmill walk to get a shoutout for my 600th walk. It was a good way to cool down from Hannah F’s 30 min PowerZone ride, which had 4 min blocks of sustained intervals.

Monday: Core + 10 min LB + 3.3 min Peloton Ride
Marcel teaches her walk + run classes with steep incline during the walk segments. I made it my own by running more slowly at about 1/2 the incline she called out.

Tuesday: 20 min FB Strength + 35 min Peloton Ride
I had just told a friend that stacking my workouts the night before was key to my consistency, but when I woke up I was not in the mood for the pop punk ride I had selected. Luckily I also had noticed a new Motown ride that fit my mood better—I love all the options Peloton offers!

Wednesday: Core + 3.5 Tread Miles
I like Alex, I really do, but he is such a nerd. At least he knows he is going off the rails when he draws an anology between HIIT run intervals and the tesserae of medieval mosaic art. 🤓

Thursday:  Core + 3.5 Scooby Miles
I was ready for that pop punk ride and it was a fun one. Charlotte was in such a great mood—it really was contagious!

Friday: Core + SFR + 3.5 Tread Miles
I’ve been going through the old strength for runners classes finding a few I missed. I like the beginning of Bec’s classes, but could do without the burpees she likes to tack on at the end!

Saturday:  Standing Core + 6.25 Scooby Miles
Y’all, it was in the 60s when I took Scooby out at 7 am. I think it’s the first time this year I’ve worn a t-shirt for an outdoor run! ☀️

One more pretty tree!

A huge thank you to Deborah and Kim for hosting the Weekly Run Down link up throughout the year, and to each of you for stopping by.

Is March going out like a lamb where you are?

I also love the Dogwood trees but yes, they do make a real mess when they fall. We have had some really nice outdoor weather the past few weeks. We have to embrace it before it gets too hot. I h ave not tried any classes from the other Alex yet. Have a great week

Those trees are so pretty!!! Yes, I can see how it would be hard to be stuck inside. Hurry up, sunrise.
Sounds like you had a great week of workouts, and glad to see Scooby got out for his runs too.
The end of March is hard for us Floridians. We’re saying goodbye to our beautiful weather and gearing up for the looooong hot summer. Sigh. I’ll just appreciate spring vicariously through you!

  3. Debbie says:

The neighborhoods are gorgeous with the fruit trees, daffodils, and hyacinths all blooming right now. It was great not being cold while working in my yard these past couple of days, but I hope it doesn’t jump right into the summer heat.

Being stuck at a desk when the weather’s perfect outside is pure torture—I feel your pain!

Aren’t cherry blossoms, magnolias, and daffodils just the best? We’re flying to Zurich next week, and I’m crossing my fingers that we’ll catch some of those gorgeous spring blooms!

  5. Very pretty flowering trees in your area! Our neighborhood has a ton of Bradford pear trees (no fruit) which have pretty white flowers. However, they do have an odd smell and it gets a bit stinky! Everyone hates the trees and we aren’t supposed to plant any more if them if ours need replacing because they have shallow roots and are notorious for blowing over. Technically they are known as an invasive species! The more you know 🙂

  6. I am so jealous of all your spring blossoms! Some trees are starting to havre buds on them here, but the blooming is a few weeks off yet. I bet that Motown ride was amazing…I love that music!

  7. Wendy says:

We’re just at the very beginning of spring here. It’s pretty warm today, so things are happening. A big cold front is supposed to move through and bring the dreaded ‘s’ word with it. Our weather is not for the meek. Enjoy those blossoms!

  8. Susanne says:

You have some wonderful trees in your area! This time of the year is fantastic with all the blossoms on display!
The Peloton workout selection seems to be enormous – is there always something that suits if you want to replace something?

  9. Melissa says:

Spring really has bloomed near you – I’m so jealous! Our daffodils are starting to come in and we have a few trees with blooms but it’s not widespread. It didn’t help that we had snow this week. We also had 60 degrees today, so maybe we’re finally around the bend (ha, I know better).

  10. Darlene S Cardillo says:

your season is so far ahead of us. Thanks for sharing the pics.

  11. Jenn says:

Oh I wish we had cherry blossoms!

Mr PugRunner floated the idea of DC next year. He wants in for the NCAA tournament, but I might not be on board with that. Instead, my sights are set on Rock n Roll or Cherry Blossom!

  12. Jessie says:

Spring has sprung there! Gorgeous trees. Love the pup, he’s such a good boy.
