If we were having coffee, I would invite you to join me at a Parisian cafe. No, I’m not off globetrotting with Deborah, but my May puzzle took me there in daydreams.

Paris puzzle

So many windows!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I finally put an end to the jalapeños I was growing in my Aerogarden, and started a new crop of lettuce and cherry tomatoes. It’s only been a few weeks, but they are already growing strong!

Aerogarden

3 week old lettuce and cherry tomatoes!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I have two  trips to Chicago next week. I almost didn’t bother coming home between meetings, but I didn’t want to miss the first in-person Lawyers Have Heart race since the pandemic started. It has a 7:15 am start and I have a 4:30 pm flight, so I should have plenty of time to recover and pack.

Trying to keep up with a younger colleague in 2019. 🤣

There’s still time to make a donation to the American Heart Association via my fundraising page.

If we were having coffee, I would let you know I might not make it to this week’s Weekly Run Down. I’ll be doing the Tour De Talbot metric century ride on Saturday, and will have to get all my weekend chores and errands done on Sunday. I look forward to hearing about your week though.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

  1. That Parisian puzzle looks great! I love all the little (yet significant) details. Is it difficult to keep your Aerogarden contained? Probably not if you’re vigilant picking the veggies as they grow & ripen(?). I know my cherry tomatoes take over our raised garden once they start sprouting.

    • Coco says:

The Aerogarden is self-limiting, since the roots can’t go far. The jalepenos grew taller than the light, so I had to “train” them to grow around it. That probably will happen with the cherry tomatoes.

well, it would be fun if you were globetrotting around with me. I’ve never been in town for the Lawyer’s race but one of these years we will do it together! I need some aerogarden tips 🙂

  3. Wendy says:

Travel is a challenge these days–you are brave to travel back and forth to Chicago instead of just staying, lol. But I don’t blame you for wanting to run your favorite race.

Good luck this weekend on your ride! How exciting!

    • Coco says:

I’ll let you know if I regret the decision. The race won’t be often, but it’s an event I always support.

  4. What a fun puzzle – brings back memories of vacations past!

Sounds like you’ve got quite a busy week ahead with the two trips to Chicago – I hope you have smooth travels! It will be great to return in person to one of your favorite races – Good luck!

  5. Marcia says:

Have so much fun with the ride! You should have gorgeous weather in Chicago as well!

  6. Catrina says:

Oh yes, that metric century ride! Looking forward to that recap, Coco.

Today is World Bicycle Day (who knew?) and we went for a short bike ride. I still need to figure out how to stop my bum from hurting on the longer rides.

  7. We haven’t done a puzzle in ages! Love that one.

Have a great run! I donated the remainder to get you to your goal 😉 Sad that you won’t be staying in Chicago to meet up for a run!

  8. jenny says:

Wow- you are busy! I hope we get to hear about the century ride at some point. Enjoy your trips to Chicago and race. And that puzzle looks hard… yes, all those windows!

  9. runswithpugs says:

You have a lot going on! That’s so exciting! Enjoy your big ride! It sounds exhausting and incredible!

  10. kookyrunner says:

Sounds like you have a busy week up ahead, but at least you get to visit Chicago twice. I have so much love for that city!

  11. Darlene says:

Love the puzzle. Looks like Delacroix.

Good luck on your race! and the bike ride!!!

Have fun in Chicago… There are quite a few bloggers there lol

I have to go to NYC for work…

  12. You are busy! I can’t believe that you come home to do a race — enjoy! Definitely a great cause.

Heck, I haven’t been on a plane in 3+ years & I don’t anticipate it happening anytime soon — but never say never. There’s the husband’s fam out West.

I have nothing planted. It’s very sad. I think some cucumbers reseeded themselves, but we really don’t have a long enough growing season so we’ll see.

  13. Enjoy your Tour de Talbot! I hope you plan to write a recap, I know I’d love reading it!

  14. Sounds like you have a busy week ahead of you! I really am intrigued by growing my own herbs I just have a total black thumb and I’m pretty sure they’d die if I tried. I’m amazed I’ve kept my cat alive this long haha.

  15. Renée says:

that puzzle is amazing!!! love it!

good luck with your trips and your race! I know that race means a lot to you. But don’t we all wish we were off globetrotting with Deborah???

  16. Farrah says:

Ooo, your plants look nice! I’m trying to keep a rosemary plant alive indoors right now but it’s unfortunately not going too well. :[ We have a rosemary bush outside though that is thankfully thriving though? heh…

I hope you have fun in Chicago!

  17. I would have traveled back home for my favorite race too!

  18. Cari says:

    mm jalapenos
I had some in a watermelon feta salad today and they might have been my favorite thing
I think you made the right decision re: Chicago
