Dazed December Days

Did you miss me last week? I don’t like to skip my weekly posts, but last weekend I didn’t have time to put together a recap or check in with the rest of you. At least I don’t have too many more dazed December days to get through before I take time off for Christmas.

Holiday Cookies and Milk Bitmoji I did manage to bake a few cookies last weekend …

Dazed December Days

Sunday I headed to Chicago for a whirlwind trip: Dinner with colleagues Sunday night and a 12 hour day Monday that started with a 7:30 videoconference, ended with a 6:00 pm videoconference, and had an 8.5 hour in-person meeting in between. At dinner Monday I was surprised by how busy the restaurant was and earnestly asked, “What day is it?”

Chicago office sunsetI did enjoy the view out the conference room window.
Can you see the reflection of my colleagues working?

I flew home early Tuesday, and work kept me busy right through Friday. Saturday I did my last planned day of Christmas shopping, but I didn’t find everything I wanted so I may go out again later today.

It’s been a good week to have the 12 Days of Fitmas to keep me motivated to exercise. While the workout gets longer every day, it still only takes a few minutes.

Weekly Run Down

Despite everything else, it was a week of Peloton milestones. I hit my 1100th Peloton strength workout, my 400th Peloton run, my 50th Peloton yoga class, and my 1950th Peloton workout overall.Peloton released fun year-end recap videos this week. Here’s a snapshot from mine.

Peloton 2021 Cooldown

That 364 bugs me because I know I didn’t miss a day!

Monday: Lower Body Strength + 30 min Treadmill Run
I accidentally hit my 1100th strength workout at the hotel gym — I thought I was doing #1098 and #1099. At least Matty made me earn that 1100 milestone.
Peloton workouts

Christine’s 5 min stretch has become my favorite,
because she spends 2 minutes on calf stretches.

Tuesday Rest Day?
Can you call a day that starts with a 4:00 am alarm a rest day? I did take a brisk walk at the airport when I realized I’d misread the gate information and I was at gate 21 instead of gate 2 …. When I got home I took Scooby for a walk and did day two of The Twelve Days of Fitmas.

Wednesday: 5.25 Scooby Miles + Peloton Strength
I had to go to the office, but got up early enough for a longish run and short strength workout. It felt great to be outside even if I had to run in the dark.

Peloton Workouts

Thursday: 30 min Peloton Ride + Strength
I had to be at the office for an 8:00 am videoconference, but was super-efficient with my workout so I could fit in a little bit of everything.

Peloton workouts
Cody has a huge following,
but his style just doesn’t resonate with me.

Friday:  3.2 Scooby Miles + Upper Body Strength
It was crazy warm—low 60s!—so I had to dig out shorts for my run. I took the new Peloton Queen run with Jermaine, and it was fun.

Peloton workouts

Andy’s strength workout was tough in the best way.

Saturday: 7.2 Scooby Miles
It was still warm enough for shorts, but in the 50s. It was barely light when we started at 6:45, but full daylight by the time we got back at 8:00.

My Achilles seems to be doing well with my current running load. I am still wearing those ankle sleeves, but haven’t taken miloxicam in a while. I’m really hoping for a healthy year of running in 2022!

Sunday: 3.5 Scooby Miles + Full Body Strength
I wasn’t planning to take a live class for my 400th run, but then I saw Jermaine’s  5:30 am Hip Hop Run on the schedule. I worried if Scooby could wait that long to go out, but then realized I could take the class outside—all I had to do was get up at 5:00!

400th Peloton run
When I got home I decided to play with Crow pose, and ended up taking my 50th yoga class. Since it was still stupid early, I rounded out my workout with a 20 min Jess Sims full body workout and then the day seven of The Twelve Days of Fitmas!

Peloton milestones

A huge thank you to Deborah and Kim for hosting the Weekly Run Down link up.

    Yes. Missed you.

Congrats on your peleton milestones. I’m getting FOMO. I may start it up again I am still not traveling for work. It makes a difference on getting things done.

Yes I’m ready but I didn’t have much to do.

Have a great week and holiday.

  2. jenny says:

Wow, you were busy! Glad your achilles is feeling well! 2022 will be our year, I can feel it.
I’m almost ready for Christmas… I’ve baked, bought, decorated, and wrapped- still have a little more to do but luckily I have a couple days off this week to get it done.
Congratulations on your Peloton milestones! Have a great week.

  3. Wendy says:

Why so busy the couple of weeks before the holidays? Lol. I keep asking that too. We are slammed right now, between doing well child visits and swabbing everyone for Covid. Are we having fun yet?

Doing some baking today and wrapping.

    • Coco says:

Well, for me, my clients are clearing off their year-end to-do lists from their desks to mine. At least it should be quiet for the next two weeks!

      Enjoy your holidays!

  4. Kim at Running on the Fly says:

Congrats on all those milestones! So far, I have loved all of Andy’s classes and am about 50-50 on Cody’s (he’s funny, but sometimes a bit too much).

  5. Marcia says:

Love that reflection pic! Looks like it was a pretty day! I keep having meetings scheduled, moved then cancelled. It’s very frustrating. I feel like everything should just wait now until the new year. Congrats on the milestones! I do love how Peloton counts all the achievements. It’s addictive!

    • Coco says:

Yes, they do keep you striving for that next badge!

My only time outside Monday was the block-and-a-half to Starbucks. My hotel, office, and the restaurant we went to for dinner were all connected. Great in harsh winter weather, but makes the day seem endless!

Way to crush all those Peloton workouts this year. It is fun to get the cool down report. I was surprised that I did so much more strength than cycle this year bc I ran so much more. Hard to fit it all in. Your travel and work schedule does sound exhausting. Hope this week gives you more downtime. Merry Christmas

  7. therightfits says:

Sometimes those weeks happen when a recap just isn’t in the cards! Glad you still were as active as ever. It took me awhile to find the Andy class as I missed that it was 2020 🙂 Always glad for your Peloton tips!

    Congrats on all the milestones!

  8. Congrats on all of the Peloton milestones!! It’s good to hear that your Achilles is holding up well – I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you that it stays that way.

Despite my best efforts I’m still not completely done with my shopping. Hoping to pick up the last of it tomorrow after work.

I hope work slows down for you this week. Are you taking any time off? Have a very Merry Christmas!

  9. The view from your conference room is great! I think I am all done with my Christmas shopping, although I’d like to find some stocking stuffers. You had some very early and productive mornings! Have a great week!

  10. kookyrunner says:

I’m so impressed that you are still able to get in your workouts despite having a super busy month at work. Congratulations on all of your Peloton milestones too! The 364 on the cool down bothered me too – it has to be a weird glitch!

  11. Catrina says:

When I read your Monday morning work schedule I wasn’t expecting to see any workouts. And yet, there you are, over an hour in the hotel gym at the crack of dawn.

I am very impressed with your discipline and efficiency, Coco. It’s very inspiring for me!

I hope you get a break this week – enjoy it!

  12. Those are amazing stats with Peloton! Congrats!

No, travel days are not rest days. I can wrack up a lot of steps on travel days, back when that meant flying for me not driving. It’s harder driving but I usually stop somewhere to walk or hike so can still get in more steps than my husband probably. That’s a low bar anyway.

I do hope you have a pain free 2022 & that you are able to enjoy the last 2 weeks of the year!

I hope you have the most wonderful end of the year! And that you enjoy your holiday time!
