Official October Coffee Date

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that after waiting for October to order a grande-skim-one-pump-pumpkin-spice-latte, I am glad I have a rewards balance to cover this fall favorite. My hotel in Austin had a Starbucks on-site, so I racked up some points on a daily Americano or two, charged to my expense budget . 😉

August Starbucks PSL Ad I’m holding out until October!

If we were having coffee, I would tell you the hot peppers I accidentally planted in my AeroGarden are growing like gangbusters! I’m still waiting for the cherry tomato pods I  meant to order, but until they come, I’ll keep adding water to the tank for these babies.

AeroGarden peppers

Will you adopt them from me, Deborah?

If we were having coffee, I would ask if you’ve ever bought green bananas that never ripened? I bought these over a week ago and they are still as green and as hard as ever. My husband likes bananas on the unripe side, but he doesn’t want to break a tooth on them!

If we were having coffee, I would ask if you’ve watched Ted Lasso? We finally gave in to the FOMO and signed up for Apple+. After a few hours of trying we gave up on figuring out how to mirror my iPad to our Samsung TV (I know I’ve done it for Disney+–does Apple+ block it?) and bought a lightning-to-HDMI AV converter from the Apple store. So, the show we thought we’d watch for $5.99 (one month subscription) cost an extra $49, but that’s Apple for you.

Do you like green bananas?

Is there an iPad mirroring trick for Apple+ I didn’t try?

  1. Well, I don’t like any bananas LOL (If you bake them into something, like bread or muffins, I’ll politely eat some of that, though). I’m clueless on all the television/streaming/subscription options…it’s a good thing I don’t spend much time in front of a tv screen (with the exception of NCAA football and basketball). Happy Anniversary! We celebrated our 31st in August…time flies, right?

  2. Catrina says:

Happy wedding anniversary, Coco! How are you going to celebrate?

Apparently you can boil the stubborn green bananas with their skin and then eat them cooked…I’ve never tried it and it’s not something I think I would want to try. 🙂

You are right, the best way to collect Starbucks points is when you’re on a business trip! Enjoy!

  3. Yep, I’ve bought bananas that never ripened – it’s so frustrating! I also bought nectarines twice this summer that pretty much did the same.

I was quite proud of myself for being able to play a YouTube video from my MacBook to our TV, but that was Apple to Apple and I didn’t have to use the Apple TV remote. I find it very confusing!

  4. Marcia says:

When I ran Flying Pig, the finish line bananas were like that. You could not get the skin off if your life depended on it. What is up with that?? I haven’t succumbed to Ted Lasso yet but everyone does seem to love it. Happy Anniversary!

  5. Wendy says:

I have had that happen with bananas and it is the oddest thing! We love Ted Lasso, although seaon 1 was better, we still like season 2. As long as you have Apple+, you should watch season 1 of Morning Show. It’s also really good.

    Happy Anniversary!

  6. Wow those bananas are really green! How odd that the never ripened. I’m looking forward to season 2 of Ted Lasso…and I agree with Wendy, watch the first season of the Morning Show – so good!

    Happy Anniversary!

  7. Oh no on having to buy a cable! I did watch Hamilton one last time before we canceled Disney. Which was cheap for a few months for us, but we didn’t watch much on there. There were a few shoes we liked on it. Don’t have Apple+, not planning to get it either (although $5.99 isn’t bad).

Nope, I’ve never seen bananas not ripen. That is totally weird. We usually have the opposite problem!

  8. runswithpugs says:

I love green bananas, and those look just right to me!

My husband is watching Ted Lasso. I am watching Squid Game. Two very different genres LOL

  9. We have Apple TV box – I won it in a raffle, but I haven’t paid for TV+ yet. I do want to watch Ted Lasso and The Morning Show, though!

Green bananas – YUCK! Maybe put them in a paper bag??

  10. Jenny says:

Yay! Glad you’re finally ready for your pumpkin spice latte! And happy anniversary! 33 years is a long time.
I have no idea what to do with the green bananas- I’ve had that happen as well, and I just end up throwing them away. If you use Catrina’s method, let us know how that works out!

  11. Cari says:

    Happy anniversary!
Agree with Wendy on The Morning Show.
I don’t think Apple blocks it-there’s an Apple TV button on my Samsung TV so maybe another issue?
Looks like those bananas are avocados in a costume!

  12. ha I would love your hot peppers! My first round of aerogarden herbs started well then they all died. I am starting over again with new ones. I have no idea why they died. So frustrating! I am not good with plants

  13. Farrah says:

Happy October! It looks like those peppers are doing awesome!

My bf definitely got a bunch of green bananas that took a billion years to ripen — he got a new bunch and those ripened before the previous batch!

I’ve heard a lot of amazing things about Ted Lasso lately so I’m gonna have to add that to my watch list!

  14. Happy Anniversary! That is weird about the bananas. I don’t like them that much. I put one in my smoothie/shake each morning but will not eat them alone like that.

  15. I forgot to mention that I am loving the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew from Starbucks. So good!
