It’s been a while since I’ve shared things that I’ve been loving lately, so I’m joining this week’s Friday Five Link Up hosted at Eat Pray Run DC, Mar on the Run and You Signed Up for What?! and telling you about five of my March favorites.
My March favorites run from fitness to food, and why not? I enjoy exercising and I love to eat. These things make both better.
1. Toiletries Bag. It took me a while to get into a groove with a shower-at-the-gym routine, and this hanging toiletries bag that I got for about $15 at Wal-Mart was one of the last pieces of the puzzle. It holds all of my full-sized toiletries, keeps everything organized, hangs up on a locker hook for easy use, and rolls up to fit compactly in my gym bag.
When I am feeling discombobulated, I use the see-through pockets as a checklist
to make sure I haven’t forgotten any essential steps of my “beauty” routine.
2. Hot Lemon, Honey and Ginger. Last weekend I met a friend for brunch at Le Pain Quotidien. I wasn’t quite in the mood for coffee, and was intrigued by the Hot Lemon, Honey and Ginger beverage. The waitress said it was really good and she was not exaggerating. This drink was amazing! The flavors were perfectly balanced, and sipping it made me feel so pampered and nourished. I wonder if I can reproduce it at home?
Mmm, look at all those bits of fresh ginger!
3. Starbucks Hearty Veggie & Brown Rice Salad Bowl. I discovered this Starbucks salad when I was traveling a few weeks ago. I don’t know if it’s new, but it’s fantastic! It has roasted butternut squash, beets, kale, red cabbage, broccoli florets, garden peas, and roasted tomatoes, with a layer of brown rice on the bottom. It comes with a lemon tahini dressing that is delicious. I usually bring my lunch to work, but knowing this is an option is making me want to “forget” once in a while.
4. Le Creuset Cookware. I got my first piece of Le Creuset cookware a few years ago, and if I didn’t know how expensive their products are I would wonder what took me so long! I love how evenly they heat, how easily they clean up, and how pretty they are. I recently spent a ridiculous amount of money on this saucier, but I really needed something this size.
I was worried about using a white pot for tomato sauce,
but it cleans up beautifully.
5. Corningware® Mugs. I shared these with you in my meal planning post, but they really are awesome for storing and reheating soup, chili and stew. The lids snap on tightly so I don’t have to worry about them spilling in my lunch bag, and the venting tabs make it easy to reheat in the microwave.

Another thing I am loving lately is the spring weather! I put my winter coat, hats, gloves and scarves away, and really hope I don’t have to dig them out again!

What are you loving lately?
I travel frequently and have never seen that salad at Starbucks but will look for that in the future. Airport food can be pretty bad, but that looks like a great option. I also love tea and may try to concoct that drink at home…sounds very tasty.
The salad and the tea are both really delicious!
I would love spring weather, too, if it actually stuck around. Instead we have a few possibilities for snow showers or wintry mix today, sunday, next week . . . but we didn’t get clobbered with your massive blizzard, so I suppose I can’t really complain.
That Starbucks salad sounds AMAZING! I do have some traveling coming up in a few months, I’ll be on the lookout.
I love my mason jars for soups, salads, stews, chilis . . . anything!
yeah, we’ve got snow in the forecast too. boo!
Lately, I am loving COFFEE and I am considering purchasing a Keurig. I know, I am several years late on this one!
Hah! But now there are so many different models to choose from, so sometimes waiting pays off.
Thanks for the tip on that Starbucks salad! I hadn’t seen that before either but I’m going to look for it the next time I’m near a Starbucks 🙂
Why didn’t I ever think of that? I have one toiletry bags and I never bring it to the gym. Great idea! I didn’t know starbucks sold salads.
Hah! But now there are so many different models to choose from, so sometimes waiting pays off.
oooh, I love those Corningware mugs!!
Those Corningware mugs look nice! I’ve never tried hot lemon, honey and ginger together. Sounds interesting.
oh so glad that you found something else to buy at Starbucks to rack up those points 🙂 I have not seen that salad yet!
LOL. It is a really good salad. You’d love it I’m sure.
I agree with you on the Le Creuset. The prices of the few pieces I have are cringe worthy but wow the stuff is sweet!
I guess you get what you pay for!
All my cookware is LeCreuset, believe it or not. I’ve been a fanatic since before I got married. We have a lot of pieces, and I still love it.
Oh, now I’ve got cookware envy. It really is fantastic!
Yea, I’m not loving the fact that we may be seeing some less than spring like weather coming our way!
I love those Corningware mugs. For reasons I don’t understand (and should change), kitchen and cookware is the one area I never spend money. But, I’ll ask for items as Christmas presents.
My Mom gave me these for Christmas!
Hmm, I might have to get one of those mugs for soup. I take it for lunch often and can’t deal with spillage. Thanks for reminding me to check them out!
These are really great. The lids are much snugger than the lids for the pyrex bowls I have.
I love Le Creuset cookware too. I only have a couple pieces but it was worth the money.
